Hello Inspector CatchIt! Great video! I was very surprised by the quiz answer. Missed it by a couple. My 89 year old mom has always said she knows her own body better than anyone. Looking forward to next week. See you in class! 💕💕
Guidelines per insurance are messed up too. I am at higher risk for a number of the factors you went over, one of which is dense breasts. So every couple of years, my doctor prescribes an ultrasound along with the mammogram as a secondary tool. However, if I try to book both my screening mammogram and my ultrasound at the same time I am told that my mammogram is no longer screening, but is diagnostic. Meaning my insurance won’t pay for it 100%. It is ridiculous, but I have to make two separate appointments, first for my mammogram so it is covered, and then after, make an appointment for the ultrasound.
I think Dr Taylor is incredibly knowledgeable! I have been following her for years. I personally didn’t like this theme, but her messages are important & valuable. Thank you Menopause Barbie.
My mom, an ob/gyn RN, found a lump herself at age 71! She had it removed and luckily it hadn’t spread to the lymph nodes. She’s now 91! Current guidelines are wrong (ps: I answered quiz correctly 😊)
Always do whatever gives you peace of mind, regardless of what any guideline says. No guideline cares about YOU personally. All guidelines are about the entire population and money. Do whatever you need for peace of mind. I applaud your wise mom!
I'm sorry, my dear. I can help you with your options. This is precisely the kind of thing for which I do one-on-one consultations. You definitely need one. I cannot tailor things specifically to you in a comment box. It requires much more information than you can give me here, and you deserve much more information than I can give you here. No two women are alike, and addressing your situation requires tailoring all the facts specifically to YOU. I do them all via online video conferencing. You can schedule at MenopauseTaylor.ME. I look forward to meeting you and helping you.
I will cover all the possible screening tests for breast cancer in this unit (which consists of 55 videos). Video 396 will be on Alternatives to Mammograms. It will air on March 5, 2024. (I am always 3 years ahead on shooting these videos for you. I put a lot of time into them.)
I have to “hand” it to you! You are clever, smart and thorough!
You are right,my sister found a lamp herself at age 50!

Thank you for letting me know how to get my outrageously expensive insurance to pay for something I need for my high risk breasts.
You are so very welcome, my dear.@@crepesuzette5540

My cancer was non-palpable and detected by mammogram. It was 1cm round and at a 4cm depth.
