    Thank God somebody is talking about how hard it is to have natural hair as a hijabi! I come from an African Muslim family myself. Literally everybody straightens/braids/perms their hair because it's such a pain to manage natural hair. I have had my hair constantly straightened for years, and the heat damage is SO bad. I wanna go natural, but my braiding game is weak af and I have no idea what products to use. I just wish there where more people talking about being a natural hijabi! Maybe then this would be easier.

      Amina yes I totally agree! I wish more people talked about this because our hair definitely takes more effort to maintain, especially under hijab 🧕🏾

      Do twist outs, they are easy and just retwist every week with LOC method to keep your natural strands moist... then cover with a silk fabric under 🧕 .... Salaam 🙏

    This was very helpful sis thanks for sharing this info! I’m a hijabi too the way I keep my hijab resting on my head properly without my hair slipping out, is I wear my natural hair banded and I’m mid back length, I band my hair all the way close to the ends and then I African thread the ends to make sure they are protected from friction,I then seal the thread with a rubberband (but I double the rubberband) because overtime the oil in my hair will snap them off, so I always double them, I try to keep my parting simple as well, so I part my hair in four sections, and each section I thoroughly moisturize and detangle and I then apply the hair ties, I don’t tie my hair tight at the base because I don’t want breakage so I begin my banding two inches away from my roots, and I only loop my hair ties three times, and as I go down I do 4 times to keep them in place, once all the sections are banded I take a large hair tie for locs and I gather my hair into one big ponytail and I tuck my hair into a bun shape inside the large hair tie--I use two to secure my bun but it is a loose bun not a tight bun because remember my hair is also banded so I don’t want too much tension, and then I put my under scarf to protect my hair and volumizer to give my hijab shape and then my mesh underscarf to hold the volumizer in place and then I wear my hijab over it. My hair is protected and my hijab stays in place. 😊

    I plan on getting "the big chop" and going TWA soon but I'm worried about my hair looking bumpy or poofy underneath the hijab. I don't know how to braid or twist or do any of that stuff lol bc my mommy is white and she never even knew how to deal with our type of hair thus resulting in me not knowing how to handle it as well! I ended up getting keratin treatment one after the other and now I'm just sick of all of this and want to go for a super short natural hair look. However, i might consider growing my hair in the future and I would really appreciate it if you have any hijab tips regarding that "awkward long-ish short hair that is not long enough to secure with a rubber band or short enough to fit properly under a hijab" phase.

      Weam Ibrahim Hey there! So my best advice in your case is to alternate with gel to slick your hair down and/ or using pins to hold your beautiful fro in tact under the hijab. I would also suggest you wearing an under cap/ scarf underneath your hijab as well.However just make sure your not adding to much tension on your hair because it could lead to hair loss. I hope that’s helps ❤️

    Don’t feel bad I’m Puerto Rican and my mother spent like 30+ years straining her natural hair to the point when I grow up as a child I basically was horrible at braiding because I didn’t have any siblings or any friends whoever did that with their hair so now it’s like a 31-year-old I’m getting curious by braiding but I know my hair tie doesn’t hold up too long braided as I tried leaving in a synthetic hair in my Skype for like almost 30 days to about three weeks

    • @zzainab9017
      @zzainab9017 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Salam sis :) so I had another person ask a similar question and my best advice in your case would be to possibly do mini twists and wear an under scarf (tight enough to allow your hair to flatten but not too tight to where you would get a headache) under your main scarf. But definitely if it is possible try in the mean time to allow your hair to grow because the longer it is the easier it gets to style. Hope that helps IA :)

    Asslamu alaykum, Can anyone suggest how to take care of natural hair when married and doing ghusl daily ? With the constant wetness?

    • @zzainab9017
      @zzainab9017 6 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      aisha brown Salam sis! That’s a really great question. Although I’m not married my best advice would be to keep your hair in some sort or protective style that makes it easy for you to do ghusl and maintain your hairs integrity. So maybe each week you alternate styles such as braids, twists, etc and then follow it up with a leave in conditioner after doing ghusl to give your hair the moisture it needs. With that being said, you will probably need find a day out of the week to have a complete wash day routine and have a new protective style for that week. Hope that was helpful :) but I’m sure someone who is married will have a far better answer then me

      @@zzainab9017 mashallah thank you so much! I'm going to try your advice. I may try and just do a protective style then not touch it for the week whilst doing ghusl daily. My hair will look a mess though 😅 but re doing natural hair Everyday isn't good which is why this is a real struggle ❤
