Great video. Learned a lot from it. I really, really enjoy Intelligenstia roasted coffee beans, both at home and also at the Chicago locations. Keep up the great work.
Typically a darker roast will have less of what some may call a "brighter" taste, like many Kenya coffees. As beans are roasted darker they tend to have a more earthy, NOT BURT, taste, sometimes a little smokey, but you also have to consider which method was used to roast it. A "fluid-bed roaster" or a "drum-roaster". The fluid bed roasters would be the best for having a nice, lighter, balanced cup each time. The drum gives a bigger body to each cup.
Dark roasts and burnt roasts are not the same thing. Coffee stopped at second crack is considered a dark roast but it almost certainly not burnt. Dark roasts do taste smoother because most of the acids in the bean have been decarboxylated.
Seasonality. Millennials love to convert adjectives to nouns because they think it sounds more intelligent. Rather, it just comes off as unwarranted pretension.
Really enjoyed your video 👍☕

Excellent video from one Roastmaster to another!

It's strange to think of that coffee roaster being made in Germany during WWII. I would have thought they would have been too busy making weapons.

Great video
"Intelligentsia, the only coffee for secret agents"
interesting video though the sound effects on the subtitles are extremely annoying. Jus' Sayin'.
Very good video and I am very impressive .
Great info but it's distracting when the dude says "uhhh" about a thousand fucking times during an 8 minute clip lol.
In fairness to him, he likely doesn't interact with real humans too much.
