HELIOS delivers Rock's deepest roots with 40 years of iconic and modified plexi tones. Features: hand-wired turret board construction with two foot switchable channels and foot switchable FX loop/boost. Available as 50 or 100 watts with EL34 power tubes.
After countless requests Reinhold Bogner revisited his vast amount of detailed notes that go back in time from three decades of archiving, modifying and designing amplifiers. Through this treasure of documents lives the aural mojo of clients such as Eddie Van Halen, Steve Stevens, Jerry Cantrell, George Lynch, Michael Landau + others.
HELIOS retail prices: $2849 100 watt and $2549 50 watt
Our ATMA amp offers a huge range of features in small, easy to carry modernist design. Three channels: clean, crunch and solo, along with the three gain voicings: 60's, 70's, and 80's are powered by two EL84 power tubes that deliver 18 watts. Plus there's an effects loop and attenuator that switches power from 18, 5 and 1 watt. All housed in a sleek modern aluminum head shell and chassis. The matching cabinet is also aluminum with a baltic birch wood baffle board.

It never stops amazing me how can guitar sing in Dougs hands - those bends with vibrato are pure bliss to listen to...

I did... got one..... and guess what! I still don't sound like Doug. Joking aside, it's a sick amp. EASILY one of the best in the modded Marshall camp.
That moment at around 5:30 when Doug makes a bend and Bogner gets the "holy shit" face. Classic. The "since I've been loving you" part is just sonic joy.

Doug is so expressive, it must be rewarding for Reinhold to see a true musician having a blast while playing one of his "creation".
We've all heard it a million times but Doug is really the most underrated player out there imo . Tune into his own channel for great gear demos and of course amazing playing !!!
I keep coming back to this every few months and every time Im just blown away by Doug's playing. Far out man. There are stacks of players shredding away on You Tube...but here is the perfect combination of feel, tone and rocking kick-ass-edness right here.
Hate to tell you Bogner Amplification guys this but Doug Rappoport can make any amp sound good.

Wow... I've listened to this Bogner demo many times. Doug's INSPIRED take on the Stone's great Gimme Shelter keeps me coming back. Percussive, hard bluesy, amazing. Doug is, IMO, the best hard rock/blues player we have right now.
Still here in 2020/ Who's coming back like me again and again and getting surprised on how freakin' cool this video is ?! The tone, the feel.....

This is still one of the best “demos” of a guitar amp in TH-cam. This and Brad Paisley’s Z Wreck video are go-to videos when I want some inspired noodling and great tones.
Doug is a very gifted musician and a joy to listen to.. Reinhold is a great artist in his own right with his amazing creations and to see it all come together is joy to behold.
I own one and had a Friedman . Helios is more organic and less compressed which I prefer...
Luke R have both. Prefer the Friedman sb limited. Ch3 is great. It's quiet too. But I have both. Helios 50 can be switched down to 32 watts in the back btw and they're both keepers.
Bogner's one of the 3-4 best amp designers of all time...and definitely the best German amp designer by light years to the second one!!! Doug Rappoport on the other hand is a guitarist with a feel and phrasing second to absolutely none! Fantastic video guys!

Can't count how many times I've watched this demo. Bought my Atma over a year ago because of this & just picked up a 50w Helios a month ago. Unbelievable amps.
Picked up an Atma a couple of months ago. Love it, very vrersatile.
Man, Doug is a smokin' player. I love to hear guys with those great roots. And how better to hear them then through a frickin' Bogner. GD I wish I could afford one of these things. Not totally crazy about the Atma, but the Helios sounds hella good! Great demo guys. I hope to own one of these things before I die.

When he was playing that part to bark at the moon at the end of the video, you can tell by the expression on his face that he was amazed by the sound of that amp. His face was telling me a hole lot from the past and the present. Doug, you are one hell of a guitarist, and the closing statement on this video is boss.

After watching this video I sold my Bogner Shiva combo, which I absolutely loved, and purchased a Bogner Helios Eclipse 100. I love this amp! It can nail the old Marshall tones 70's - 80's. Plus it looks killer on a 4 x 12 cab.

Doug is the freaking man. he can play one note for 5 minutes and still make it sounds amazing.

Doug’s playing is like having an top F1 driver go around the track in a new hi performance car. He able to squeeze more out the car and track than the designers thought was possible.

I have had some Bogners. They are all amazing!!! Currently using the Shiva. Doug, the Helios and the ATMA are all great. The ATMA is awesome for what it is. At 5W, in an apartment at 2 AM, you can't beat it. Big power feel at super polite volume. Thank you Reinhold!!!!!! You are a child of the Universe.
coffeewaldo Yeah, I hear ya. Tube watts are loud. I have always lived in an apartment. I have usually had 100 watt amps. I just turn the volume down. Luckily never had a problem yet.. I think part of the "loudness" is a forward midrange. The Bogners' have a huge midrange. They really cut. How is the 1 watt setting in your place???
Hey David, The one Watt is fine it's just a shame I can't use the other two I just can't play that loud in our apartment and I typically don't play loud anyway. Otherwise i'll hear my wife say turn it down. Meanwhile the volumes on maybe one.

Lol I'm ok David. I'm finding lots of different tonal options. This amp has endless varieties of tones that I keep coming across. At least i'll have my hearing right? The 1 watt can be loud. Trust me. Maybe i'll move up to 5 watts when nobody's around. :).
I got it up to 5 watts tonight nobody seemed to notice haha.

I have the 50w liked it better than the 100. It has a nicer feel to it. It also sounds more raw.
I have it and it’s never mentioned that you can set the variac switch to 32 watts. I like when people argue with me about it but I own one. It’s a spongier feel.

134,000 views. Doug’s playing pentatonics. Anyone who makes fun of pentatonics may want to rethink your thoughts. Oh I get it you like math rock. No thx. I’ll take Doug any day. One of the best guitarists around. Deserves more recognition. Been watching him for 15 yrs. So if you don’t like pentatonics go do your math arpeggio scales. Pentatonics can be played over rock, pop, blues, funk even jazz.
