@ no, I aren't dumb. dumb people would conclude that the plane was floating in mid-air not flying @3:30, thus the helicopter flew into it. smart people would know better. a plane cannot just float like that. the plane must be travelling at high speed in one direction, thus you can't tell which run into which just from 3:30.

It was not a small plane. It was a large plane. Also, the helicopter hit the plane. Helicopters have this neat feature that they could just sit still and wait for the plane to land

Air Traffic asked the Blackhawk if it saw the inbound jet. The Blackhawk pilot said they did. The Blackhawk was told to go behind the American Eagle inbound. 18 seconds later, the collision occurred. The pilots of American Eagle weren't warned about the Blackhawk. Sky News Australia was reporting this.
Why should the CRJ be warned ?? They are on a cleared to land Final and at 200- 300 ft 150kts there is little room to abort other than fly heading and climb. PIC and 2nd are concentrating on landing. The onus is on Tower to warn, direct as they did to the Helo. With that warning and acknowledgement reply by the Helo, it was the Helo's responsibilty, being the aircraft in vicinity, to avoid final approach planes and their flight paths.

How could this mishap happen? Doesn’t the Black Hawk have night vision or some sophisticated onboard system? Yet, the beacon light of the airplane could be seen from miles away, and the weather wasn’t cloudy or covered in heavy fog or mist. If this was due to training mission, then I believe some general in charge of the training should be held accountable for it.

Couple of private military and airlines channels have said the helicopter TCAS wasn't turned on, which can detect very low flying objects. Planes and helicopter altitude was about less than 400 ft in the air. (TCAS wasn't on possibility due to covert training) Definitely interested who takes blame

It's been hours. Between the explosion from the collision, the impact of hitting the water, and the fact the river was frigid and icy, that's only a few minutes before people start dying from hypothermia or drowning because of it if they survived the first two barely survivable impacts. They will not find any survivors. What matters now is that divers safely work to continue finding the remains of 48 more people for their families, and get the black boxes to find out why the hawk went in front of the jet which was the opposite of what air traffic control instructed.

Night Vision / Infared does not work looking at direct and indirect lighting such as area's with bright city lights, other aircraft landing lights etc etc .There is absolutely no reason to use that around airports. TCAS avoidance systems which ALL commercial airlcraft have, does not issue Ascend Descend command at less than 1000ft because there is little room to manuever and greater chance of terrain collision. . Military A/C are not equiped with TCAS. They use an entirely different system. And rely more on ATC both civilian and military.
