If you want to know the true picture of WB today, take a look at the government employment cases hanging in various courts. Her party members are so corrupted that even she can't do anything about it. Take a look at various ministries and their corruption stories. Post-poll violence is not only in the media; it has become an everyday thing in WB. All the schemes introduced by the current government have complaints against them. Take a look at Tab for high school students. Do proper research, not just look at and believe the papers published by the government.

My grandfather had a plywood factory in Bengal. He was planning to shift his factory from Behala to howrah on a larger land size. The labour union set up a strike and didn’t allow us to move our machinery out, and didn’t let us enter our own land. Finally we had to give upto their demands and ultimately after few years our factory had to shut down and we moved to uttar pradesh and setup a unit there…This was in 1997

Many schemes of government of West Bengal are helping students though many are misusing the schems and not working hard.
And many people of Bengal do not care for the state
The people of Bengal care for there personal interest only many people who are involved in politics believe if BJP win the state election so they can get personal benifits for the BJP part to satisfy there own interest in there life and don't think of the rest of state but only for there self. Many people of Bengal are getting benifits of the TMC govt schemes but in public they support BJP .
Maximum people of Bengal think they no poltics but in fact they are idiot in poltics .
The people of Bengal do not take care to know what's happening in India and other states the maximum population of the state are dub in politics and economics thinking and special bad at think how there action will cost the state in the feature.

@pratyaysaha government is made for the people and by the people. Bengal is not exception maximum government officer in deferent government office in Bengal don't like to work hard and even if they worked they take bribe form the people of Bengal.
The Cpm part also did it in Bengal and now TMC and even if BJP win the state election they will also take bride from the people of Bengal because the people of Bengal working in the government like to take cut money from the people of Bengal. So the default is not in the government but in the people's mentality.

It's really disappointing to see channels like Think School presenting half-baked information. Since May 20, 2011, Mamata Banerjee has been the Chief Minister of West Bengal, which, as of November 13, 2024, totals 4,923 days in power. Isn’t that enough time to fulfill the promises of uplifting the state and making it a source of pride for the country? A true leader should encourage people to achieve excellence and prioritize the well-being of their state.
Yet, instead of positive progress, West Bengal has seen repeated issues with law and order, instances of various scams, cases of rape and murder, an education scam, and other forms of corruption. It’s disappointing to witness these problems persist while the people were promised change.
To the Think School team, please don’t compromise on integrity for the sake of viewership or profit. You built trust by deeply analyzing data and presenting balanced perspectives, and it’s disheartening to see a lapse in that standard. From today onwards, I will double-check the facts in your videos before accepting them. Please prioritize honest, fact-driven content that benefits both viewers and the country as a whole.

Bro, I think you're being biased again. You're not giving the full picture. She is inviting millions of refugees from Bangladesh to build her vote bank and is distributing Aadhaar cards to them. With limited jobs available, inviting more people is certainly a burden on the economy. Along with provisions like wheat, she's also catering to the minority vote bank by offering freebies to maintain their support. On top of that, there are issues like booth capturing, dirty politics, criminality, and hooliganism-many factors that you've left out.

As a Bengali I can confirm, people of Bengal never wanted Tata to get out from Bengal (not talking about poor farmers, they are brainwashed and have no idea about industry) and Mamata Banerjee's free subsidies instead of welfare, education system corruption, illegal immigrations are the reason of Bengal's downfall alongside the 34 years long communist reign. Every Bengali is fed up to the core. But can't do anything due to the threat culture happening here. Don't forget the RG kar case. Every single protest has been silenced and no justice is served.

West Bengal consists of not even half of Bengal. Banga, which is the ancestral homeland of Bengalis. Consists of the modern borders West Bengal, Tripura, Parts of Meghalaya, Assam and Arakan (Myanmar) and of course Bangladesh. It is only fair to compare all of Bengal to all Gujarat to see real picture. That picture has been the same since times immemorial. When India was the most prosperous land on Earth. Bengal was it's richest!
When you say not to compare Bengal with Gujarat. You're absolutely right! How can there be a comparison between a Elephant and a rat?!!
In this world Bengalis are only behind the Chinese and Arabs on terms of the entire human civilization. Your Gujarat or even Maharashtra or both combined are still puny compared to us. You and your descendants will always live under our cultural domination just like your ancestors. Everyday you sing the national anthem. Know that you're singing a Bengali song. In every nooks and crannies you will find us and our heritage. Because you see Bengal doesn't came from India. But the idea of an independent India, Pakistan and its own independent state was all birthed by Bengal.
That is the unapologetic truth of history and reality. Either you can swallow or not is up to you. There's an saying old saying in Bengali:
"Whatever Bengal thinks today. India thinks tomorrow."

Once left parties allowed Tata factory in Singur he switched his allegiance to Mamata and now he considers communist party as "gaddar". He thinks all large businesses should be govt owned/PSU and only reason states allow private companies is due to corruption. I think many people resonates with this thought process in India. Think of your father in law during his young days, how these things were fed in his mind that "Samrajjobad er Dalal der Bhenge dao guriye dao, Turn the Capitalists to the ruins". Lot of left wing intellectuals have written books and poems to manipulate the young minds on top of Marxs Das Kapital. Many of those in their 60s in Bengal still believe that driving away Tatas were the right thing. It's all left wing romanticism that people especially students get easily attracted to. We Bengalis say "Hujuk e matha dhukiye dewa, going with the trend".

As a Bengali, I think the young generation is very capitalist, they see what is happening in other states and countries. The old generation like my father and uncles everybody I know are/were CPIM supporter & they still like CPIM( not necessarily vote them) without trying to understand what they did wrong, they just have a lingering feeling like those were the good times. I personally hate TMC but can see Mamta Banerjee is actually making some efforts to change but every single minister is rotten to their core ! Everyone is under investigation under some kind of scam or scandal or money laundering. And Mamta being their leader isn't doing anything to stop this, she is openly trying to save them! The main thing lacking currently in this state is Strong Opposition. Yes BJP is worse than them, at least TMC is united, but BJP is bickering among themselves. They have no connection to the common public they are failing to create the storm that Mamta created single handedly in 2011. But above all the people of Bengal are so used to being poor and living by just meeting basic needs they don't want any change! Lastly The Lakshmir Vandar scheme is the game changer. While I like the poor woman getting 1000 rupees a month which makes them somewhat self dependent, it pains me to think her son/daughter could have got a job if not for Didi !

Being a resident of this state, I can vouch for all your statements.
    1. The people of this state are just too uninformed and have a myopic vision for growth.
    2. Industries are not proliferating due to unwarranted demands from labour unions which are nothing but just arms of political parties to keep control over the businessmen as well as the poor labourers.
    3. The underutilisation and non expansion of its assests such as roads, metro rail, ports, connectivity to NE states and South East Asian.
    4. The corrupt bureaucracy and politicians who have a lack of will for growth and development. Instead they keep luring the poor with freebies, which again in turn increases state expenditure.
    5. Lack of a visionary leader with sufficient political support who can make revolutionary policies to attract businesses.
    6. Once the biggest jute textile hub in the world, with hundreds of factories setup during the British Raj weren’t modernised and upgraded. The industry is still the backbone of the state but is in shambles due to the political labour unions.
    7. The HATE for “OUTSIDERS” among the general populace. It is concerning that citizens of the same country feel that the brothers and sisters of the other states are “OUTSIDERS” to them, and the hatred is so evident that it’s just not the businesses who are not willing to come to WB, but now the people also don’t want to migrate to this state for jobs.
It’s a deeply hurting and concerning that the state which has given the icons & leaders of the fight for an independent nation, has now lost it’s nationalistic identity. The Regional cultures and identity must be preserved but not by jeopardising the nationalist values. If people of other states are outsiders, then what will be the difference between WB and Bangladesh ?

    She did good in
    1. Tourism
    2. Social welfare
    Did bad in
    1. Economy Management. But, political Unions is there in most of the companies. Even, also companies needs to pay hefty amount to party otherwise not able to do business.
    Worst in
    1. Education. She literally single handedly broke the backbone of Education system.
Don't surprise, after 15-20 years West Bengal may be a hub of goon & bad politician.
    2. bureaucracy: Money needed for everything

Please don't judge West Bengal by its CM.... West Bengal has a lot to offer especially it's unexplored Northern Parts.
I love North Bengal and you would love it too if u love nature....The Dooars region is the best place in West Bengal ,it's extensive, clean and best for tourism.

You argued that communism destroyed socialist countries like USSR and CHINA but have you ever notiecd the significance of these countries worldwide and their economy, infustructure, and pubic welfare services are far more superior than that of India. India today has became a nation full of corruption, political hatred and is also engulfed by the crisis which the bourgeois inflicted upon its society. Karl Marx argued that the privated capital and money should be abolished, all must have an equal share of all the assets, no one shall be born rich or poor, only then the country can become a superior one. The proletarians strive to acheive financial success in their life, only to be of no use and they live in extreme poverty, misery and in distress.

Well first of all, Thank You Ganesh for making a simplified explanation of a deep complex topic.
I am from Singur, West Bengal and I absolutely agree with each and every point you explained. I just only say, our generation are the direct victims of a policy failure and bad governance system, But the Irony is that the government justify their communism ideology through education system like The Singur Andolon (Revolution) is a part of Government School Text Books. That's why the majority people of Bengal don't understand the pros and cons between two systems and fall on the communism anti capatilistic mindset. Here I quote Mr Sanjeev Sanyal's Comment "People of Bengal has a proverty of aspiration" and that's the root cause of this problem.
I watched the Mr Sanyal's podcast episode with you and trust me as a bengali I can also relate his pain and sadness when he talks about Bengal. After all he also is a Bengali guy.
And lastly, talking about corruption and politics, just like before the 1992 pre-liberation era India has the black economy and mafia raj issue the same things we faced as a byproduct of the poor economic and communism mindset.
The only beacon of hope in this tempest situation is that the younger generation of Bengal are thoughtful, they can understand the pros and cons of both systems due to the availability of free and quality information. As an optimistic person i am hopeful about the future of Bengal.

17:42 also about the health insurance, it just covers upto 5lakhs for a whole family for a year. Given the health costs it's beneficial for small Operations (like cataract and stuff) but in general is not that effective. And also there have been cases that hospitals are unwilling of perfoming operations on sastho sathi (the health insurance scheme).
