Founded in 2010 (as Eskimo Callboy) they were a more or less standard metalcore band, with a mostly humorous attempt though, for almost 10 years. Early in 2020 their original lead singer left to found a solo project, so they casted 'the nose' as the new clean vocalist. They decided to introduce him to the fans with a no holds barred, all in, over the top song & video, which was Hypa Hypa (mission accomplished I guess). The rest is partycore history.
By the way, the dance crew at the end are a bunch of befriended youtubers/ streamers/ gamers. EC sometimes does storytelling videos with the band not appearing (or just in cameos) and two of said youtubers are starring in most of those. The guy in the curly wig with the glitter jacket (HandOfBlood) starred in MC Thunder (2017) and MC Thunder II - Dancing Like A Ninja (2020) and the guy in the front with the light blond wig (Kalle aka Kalle Koschinsky) appeared in MC Thunder II and starred in Arrow Of Love (2022).
I think they could have benefited from this general overview befpre the reaction. totally turned off byt "the nose" thing and then negative connotations to assumed nationality.
@@donnakurtz9293 I can understand why you've felt that way. Personally, I try to get the funny side of situations like this (not always successfully though). When they said "the nose" the first time, my immediate thought was, that this was the nickname (unofficially of course) of Barbara Streisand and at that moment it turned out to be just hilarious. I mean just think of Hypa Hypa with the Streisand in it. And in regards to the assumed nationality: some stoners, who are afraid of raunchy lyrics and dingdong thrusts, do we really expect for them to know there is a difference between Russian and German (or anything around)? ;)
Germany has countless incredible metal bands. Those guys brought in some comedy and we're all celebrating it. The whole club/techno-thing is for fun, Electric Callboy is a damn fine metal band through and through. Selling out a US tour as we speak.

They are a party core/gym core band that does not take themselves seriously. They are huge all over the world and even applied to enter EuroVision song competition with the song Pump it to represent Germany, this is when they changed their name from Eskimo Callboy to Electric Callboy in order to not cause offense. They sadly were rejected as they are not radio safe...

as for where they’d play… they were the first metal band invited to play Parookaville EDM festival, they do rock and metal festivals all the time, and they just finished their first big headlining tour. a bunch of the venues had to be upgraded because tickets sold out so fast. they’ve really blown up the past couple of years.

Guys, this song has 9 versions with different German artists or bands. Hop on the train, there's a rap version with 257ers, more screams and heavy riffs with WBTBWB, a very melodic work with Sasha and many more.

Welcome to Electronic Callboy rabbit hole, fantastic German band that mix metal, EDM, and pure pop into memorable earworms. Their Tekno album was probably last year's best drop, and they made videos for all but 2 of the songs, and just a FUN band. From here go with "We Got The Moves", "Pump it", "Tekno Train" and "Spaceman". They are fantastic overall, don't know whether to bang your head or twerk with their music. FYI, the model besides doing that is a certified nurse, European's just vibe different.

Overtly humorous, yet still skillful metal technicians, who mix in tweaky electronic twists.... makes for a fun party in my book. But then, I *am* familiar with metalcore & Scooter etc. I'm also in Scotland, so a lot closer to Deutschland than you guys, & I enjoy a bit of goofy German-flavoured fun!

Both of their band names were/are sex jokes. Before they were called Eskimo Callboy.(it was offensive to someone supposedly so they changed it) Now they are called a vibrator.(that is what electric callboy is).

I believe that Europeans are not that strict with genres. Take Wacken Open Air. A really BIG festival. You can enjoy a show there of MEGADETH, JINJER, IRON MAIDEN alongside EIVØR, FAUN, etc. That's (Heavy)Metal and Folk, in one festival. And that's just 2 of the many genres at that festival.
I was at two concerts. the last end of april. I broke my metatarsal bone in the mosh pit. I'm looking forward to the next concert😁

They are fabulous live, everything about them is fantastic the best being they don't take themselves seriously like some ( not staring at anyone in particular) they are skilled musicians and excellent singers. These guys headline all over the world they are huge globally, I saw them Nov 2024 and it won't be the last time I'll see them live.

One year after that song released they teamed up with 7 different artists/bands to make 7 different covers in different genres. The one that might interest you the most there is the german rap version with the 257ers. Though the dethcore version with WBTBWB is also awsome.
They also have a song with german rapper Finch called Spaceman. There they add rap to their already awsome mix between metal, techno and europop.

Every song I've heard from Electric Callboy (formally Eskimo Callboy) has been great. Every video is top tier. These guys don't take themselves seriously, but they take their music very seriously.
