  • 🍌🍊Bethy offers an object lesson for kids on what integrity is, and what the Bible has to say about it. This object lesson was adapted from "Object Lessons, Games & Activities" by Kathie R. Phillips. 🍌🍊

    Questions for Further Discussion:
    1) What is Integrity?
    2) What does it look like in a person when the outside and the inside match?
    3) What does it mean in Proverbs 11:3 when it says " The integrity of the upright guides them"?
    4) What would you do in a situation where no one would know that you stole the $5.00?
    5) You can know deep in your heart what you would really do. If you don't like your honest answer, how can you develop more integrity? Or what would you say to someone else who wants more integrity?
    6) What is an example you can share of a situation that you needed to have integrity in?
    7) Who is a person in your life who has integrity?
    8) Everyone can take personal inventory for these questions:
-Am I a person of Integrity?
-Am I an honest person in my heart?
-Do my insides and my outsides match?
    9) Look up Acts 16 to see a positive example. Have the kids point out the integrity in this situation.
    10) Look up Acts 5 to see a negative example. Have the kids point out what they should have done to have integrity.

    Lesson Notes:
Here are the instructions for this lesson so you can reproduce it for your kids or class.
    Materials:
    -Bananas
    -Orange
    -$5.00 bill
    Lesson:
-Show the Banana and Orange to talk about how the Outside matches the Inside.
-Read Proverbs 11:3 "The integrity of the upright guides them."
-Give an example of an obviously wrong sealing (like the pencil from a friend) and then ask the kids what they would do in a situation where no one would know if they stole.
-To make this lesson more full, look up the story of Paul and Silas in Jail, in Acts 16.
-And look up Act 5, the story of Ananias and Sapphira.
-Remember to point out that no one can be honest in their heart without the help of God.
