I have a question, so I went fishing yesterday to a pond. I used a Texas rig cuz there were a lot of fallen branches and I used a couple of lures with no luck even when they would jump out the water. I used frog, senkos, live bait and a raddler....what was I doing wrong?! 😭 I was even giving it a light character and only felt tugs, would move around the pond and not stay in one area but they would still jump out in another! They would even swim right in front of me and NOTHING! Wth...any advice??
That was Duck Weed covering that pond. In the Summer it's bright green and spreads like wildfire, but in the Winter the frost gets to it and turns it a redish color. I fished one a couple of weeks ago that was so thick a 1oz. sinker could barely punch through.

Noah I would like to see a video on how to tune your baitcaster for different baits or at least how you do it. I notice you can cast a lot farther than me and especially on ponds that is a good skill to have. Baits I would like to see talked about: Senkos, rattle, small cranks. Thanks!

I would have changed from the crank bait, to a jig or worm, maybe try a carolina rig. You might have got something bigger, but those were nice fish, just all slot fish where i live.
Just a curious question, who owns these ponds or are they on public land! Seems impossible to find a good spot to fish here in Virginia. Nobody will let you fish their ponds here. Ive been river fishing the past 2 weekends and hookin up on some nice size smallies!! I love catching smallies. Love the channel keep up the great work!

That invested lake green/red Is very comun in mexico central lakes ....with very good results ...its where the lunkres are. Next time try more time ....you miss a lot action there ....no matter the weather was cold.....next time try no mater what

I wish I could post pictures on here because your first one I know a pond where I was doing the same thing but my bass keep getting bigger and bigger. I caught 30 for bass in 2 and 1/2 hours and lost about five of them. Anywhere from a pound to my biggest 7 1/4 lbs. It's unreal and this was a super tiny pond but it was deep it was 15 to 20 ft deep and I mean just a tiny pine you can walk around it within 5 minutes. If I could put pictures up I would put them all up. And those look like the same thing I'm fishing they look like Retention Ponds. That's where I've been catching most of my bass anymore is in Retention Ponds.
Buy a Lunkerhunt popping frog for lakes like that, I’ve had a lot of trouble using other lures but when using a frog on water like that, the frogs are juicyyyy
@@KickinTheirBASSTV when it gets warm you.need to go back to that pond with the moss all over it. I've caught some good fish in ponds like that. Stick with the frog when you do
when you are casting, the camera is right on the handle and reel most times. its better when you drop the rod a bit to show more of the action before the strike.

you just need to practice doing it I spent about a day trying to skip under trees with mine and after backlashing like 4 or 5 times I got the hang of it

He just leaves everything VERY loose. Takes practice but can be done without backlashing. He’s talked about it in other videos

when you go to a pond what is your approach as far as tackle and rods? it seems that you usually pick one or two baits and stick with that
Ponds are pretty simple. Jig style baits and worms will usually catch anything in farm ponds 👍🏼
