Another weird Karen Komment. In addition to what's been mentioned, I love the way she articulates her arms and hands: it's mesmerizing. (Plus she's tiny, so looks like a young Makarova.) Knowing it's a debut (or second) perf, I can kind of see that she's still making sure she executes the choreography perfectly and doesn't quite have the character baked into her bones yet. But really, she looks fantastic. Where do you find this stuff? Thanks so much for uploading. I'd seen the dance of death and am so happy you added in more of act 1 and Shades
She dances beautifully in this role. From what I've heard her second performance was the best and I suspect that's true since her debut was wonderful. She did dance Gamzatti at Primosky, so I had thought she would dance it again at the main stage, but at last an announcement that she's gonna dance Nikiya with Stepin who's also had a debut as Solor. Again, congratulations to both of them on their debut, a wonderful Nikiya and Solor ❤️
Congratulations to charming Renata on this wonderful debut at Mariinsky! I think the personality of Shakirova is shining through her interpretation of Nikiya which makes it different and exciting.

I love her in the first act especially, she is so good at expressing joy. thank you for this video, but please if possible don't cut the last/first moments of the scenes, at 10:47 especially i would have loved to see the end of the movement and the beginning of the next one which i really love

Ugh. Why?🙄 What’s more, that’s just her bone structure. Shakirova has delicate bones, so they don’t necessarily protrude, even when she’s very thin. When she stands next to other dancers, you can clearly see just how small and narrow her frame is. There’s no reason for her to sacrifice her health. It’s bizarre (and sort of evil) to insist upon that.

Shakirova dances so beautifully, it is quite astounding. Every movement is executed so well, and her musicality is near perfect, it's almost difficult that there's a terrible orchestra playing the music. Thank you very much, @BunduBallerina, for this wonderful video.
It's all there, but it's missing that last coat of polish on a difficult and very stylistic role. The ONE person who knows this famous role better than anyone and can take Renata to a divine coaching realization of it for HER is: NATALIA MAKAROVA

Конечно, труд танцовщика неимоверный, и это надо ценить. Но, говоря по-честному, тут набор движений, иногда красивых, иногда совсем неудачных, но цельного характера нет совсем. Рената может украсить любой балет. Но тут пока нет ничего, кроме заученного порядка, борьбы с технической стороной и отсутствия содержания. Безхарактерно и безсюжетно совсем. Надо продолжать работать над смыслом. Удачи в новом сезоне.
У Ренаты был замечательный дебют, именно потому, что она нашла "свою" Никию. Не отрешенную от мира баядерку, как танцуют многие балерины, а девушку со своими эмоциями и страстями, волею судеб отданную служению богу. Сужу не по видео, была и на обоих спектаклях Шакировой.
No, sorry. She has some nice qualities, and she could be just precise, and funny, but all together she lacks credibility, she has something strange in expression, port of neck, and you can see in any seriois drama she acts.

She had several debuts this year I heard about: Paquita, Gamzatti, Nikiya. Any other? She seems to be very busy lately.
I would love to see her do Gamzatti, which seems like a more natural fit. But hopefully this debut means a promotion is coming!
