Enjoyed this one a lot. Those ankle rollover isolations landed like a gut punch. The defensive battles you enjoyed also sound like mini epic underdog stories.

I hoarded a few pairs of Ektio sneakers before they went out of business. I’m glad more sneaker companies are stepping up to make ankle-supporting kicks
I get a lot of flack for my pair but the Ektio shoes were a game changer for me
Algorithm! Glad to see those old shoes are being used for something other than sitting in my garage. I'd like to check the out in a different color way . I prefer a mixture but I love seeing good defense being played. Defense is where teams can make separation. It's more WILL than skill and it also shows which teams know how to communicate with each other.

I like it. Gives me lightweight, low top Lebron 12/Soldier 9 vibes which were my favourite Lebron model. And those materials, I miss when that was the norm.
The Jordan xix is my fav hoop shoe of all time. I had every colorway back in the day, over 20 pairs total. Blew through every single pair lol.

these are super unique, I dig them. Very Vans-ish, almost skate shoe vibes.
I think a good game is a good game. Sometimes it's defense, sometimes offense. Yes, they should have both... and great games DO. However, I find I get hyped over big plays, or an incredible individual performance (LeBron's block in 2016, Kobe's 81in point game, Jordan's multiple final shots.)

I agree with the mix of both, bit if I gotta choose between an offensive game and defensive game, I'd go with defense 💯. When it's easy to score, buckets have less meaning. When it's tough to score, each bucket maters.
I definitely lean more towards the defensive-type game, but I agree that you need both offence and defence. The thing is, effort on defence is highly visible, while effort on offence isn't as visible because it's all about heart rate and conditioning (you beat the defender to the punch, so to speak). You have to coach both and insist on defence because that effort shows and can be translated to the offensive end.

Serious player only has really been a great shoe company soo far . I have been a fan for a year or two now ever since they became available in my country . The explosive midsole is something else , nice to know the Ranger now come with the explosive midsole off the box

Give me the low scoring defensive game where each bucket makes a difference. I think of Warriors-Cavs Game 7 as a perfect example of this.
That anti-roll feature really puts me off. Outside of that, this shoe is really interesting and my favorite from these guys.
Not to me! It is obviously experimental, if data suggests something like this can minimize injury then the tech will just continue to evolve and get better.

Me too. I m very skeptical. It could bring more damage to the ankle. It's a more than 90 degree roll, let's hope it's not 180, but could potentially roll a 150 degree.
The shoes are interesting and i kinda like em! Def would rock em…especially since it’s a low top and suede! Curious to see what the review is on its performance. The traction looks dope though and the fact that all the previous drop ins all work worth this too is an added bonus! As for the question of the day… IF i had to choose between the two and only that, I’d pick defense all day!! We’ve seen multiple versions of the run and gun high scoring zero defense version and in all instances…..i get pissed off when i don’t see defense played.🤣 Absolutely with Chris about the balance and that great teams achieved both.
They took the mid foot bulge idea from Asics Unpre Ars line. I have both Unpre Ars 1 and 2. Great shoes and awesome stability.
interesting approach to addressing a pretty common hazard during play. like that theyre trying to beef up a low top, instead of the usual way of making a rigid high top

Is the shoe wide footer friendly? Don't mind the outrigger. As for type of game, love the grind out it defensive games but i have always found that great defense leads to offense so yeah i would agree with Chris, games should be a mix of both.
I wish drop ins would become a standard for bball sneakers. Its just cool, and tailers the sneaker to u.

I really dig them.
Use a good ETPU for the drop-in and keep the carrier as a good regulator. You'll get a pretty decent fit for the life of the shoe.
The stripe on the side gives me Vans vibes. Like an Old School or something similar. As far as today's question, give me elite shot making and up and down scoring. Defensive games are great, but most times, I just attribute that to the offense just not having it that day.

It's a Cybershoe for the Cybertruck aficionados🤣 Sneaker doesn't look at all like it's designed for basketball, more like a lifestyle outdoor and even a driving shoe (tyre groove outsole) I reckon. Like a rugged, hefty Puma Speedcat. The various drop-insoles is a super impressive feature💛

I sort of like it! Definitely need to see some different colors, but I think it's bold in it's angular design without looking dumb.
In other words, it's not the Cybertruck of shoes, thankfully.
Would like these better if they somehow could make it a clean toe without any other layers of material on top.

1st. Good shoe and SURE it was the shoe that made that weird noise when the insole pods got moist!! 2nd. I'm for hustle and off the ball movement rather than standing still waiting for the pass and iso-ball. Defense first, passing over dribbling, and not just crossing half court and heaving a 3 pointer. THAT would be a perfect game and the Denver v. Minnesota series is amazing to watch the swarming defense and the hustle that each team is showing. 3rd. QOTD : What shoe would you waste a Genie's wish to have re-release and what shoe would you waste a Genie's wish to have NEVER release again? ❤

Why isn't the explosive midsole your fave?
Every Serious Player Only shoe always looks really interesting, but you can tell they are trying to do something different with each release.
If the cybertruck came with a shoe this is what I imagine it would look like, also not dissing I find the cybertruck to look interesting.
Do any brands sell new drop ins? The thing that wears most in my shoes are foam/insoles/cushioning. If the outer shoe is good, why can't I just buy like formula 23 drop ins? 🤔

definitely made for those "take it slow & methodical" type of players. built for bulk & stablility.
Im Jodi on this take, i also feel that the lower scoring games when both teams have good defense are most fun to watch, which is different than low score because both team s*cks on the offense when there isn't good defense lol.

QOTD: If I can only pick between those two choices, I'll take the track meet. The far extreme of offense (Steve Nash/Mike D'Antoni Suns) is more compelling than the far extreme of defense (Tony Bennett-era UVA). Extreme scoring feels like a celebration of basketball and extreme defense is a more pessimistic approach. But if I can choose my own game, give me somewhere in between and let it be a one-basket game.
I gotta respect SPO for trying something new. I can't say that I'd be interested in wearing these casually but the tech seems cool and I like their commitment to listening to feedback.
