I am subscribed to BOTM and as everyone eventually does, I skip if I don't like the selection for a particular month. Overall I too like their services 😊
The only thing BOTM is missing is a larger library of nonfiction--I find myself looking through there for add-ons and it doesn't update often. Other than that, I LOVE this subscription and I've kept it even while I've let other subscriptions go.
Also, you totally don't have to get a BOTM pick to get add-ons! I didn't like any of the May picks so I added stuff from my TBR section (all of which I bookmarked from the add-on section). One of my books took up the monthly credit (I picked The Silent Patient) and then I added Piranesi and Project Hail Mary for 10.99 each as add-ons ^_^
@@corvatrix9253 Really?! I actually don't have anything added to my TBR section so I will need to try that! I have also heard other people mention they could do better with having more non-fiction picks. Non-fiction is genre I don't tend to read a lot of so I haven't noticed, but having people point it out I do see there isn't much there and they could do better.
@@tysbookcorner Yes! Def throw some stuff into your TBR and see if that helps! I don't read a ton of nonfiction, either, but I'm trying to change that---but BOTM has slim pickings!
It's so weird they don't have a specific date to announce the books. It seems like such a basic thing. I've always been curious about trying it because I've seen a number of books they offer that I want to read, but it's just so expensive for me. If I started reading more new books, I'd probably subscribe to them, though.
It's so annoying they can't be consistent with the date they drop the new books 🙄yea unfortunately I think the huge benefit is if you are into new releases
I love BOTM. If nothing grabs me then I just skip. I also have Fairyloot and it’s more expensive and it’s a hit or miss with them as well. A lot people don’t complain because the books are pretty, but the question is how many of them do they actually read. I would say the same with Illumicrate as well. At least you can skip with BOTM.
It's Illlumicrate, they specialize in exclusive edition books. I'm not sure how much the subscription is but there is always a waitlist. You are able to go to their online shop and purchase books which I have done.

I feel like BOTM is the service everyone uses to tests out lol...can't beat the skip feature!

What other subscriptions did you let go of? I'm shopping around for book subscriptions services and would like to know your thoughts.

I have BOTM but I haven't been impressed with the choices lately. I got Fairyloot last month so I'm probably going to drop BOTM.
Too bad BOTM didn't work out but Fairyloot has some beautiful editions of books, great choice!!

Yes that skip feature is so nice! I don't like being forced to get something if I don't want it..
What was the other subscription service you mentioned at 31:10? I'm on the lookout for other subscription services.
