Learn Welsh Insults with NECK DEEP's BEN BARLOW

  • Neck Deep’s Ben Barlow sat down with APTV to share his favorite Welsh swear words and insults.
Barlow says the Welsh language is dying out, and he has only a basic working knowledge of it from required school courses when he was a kid. (And any basic knowledge of a language has to include swear words, right?)
In addition to learning how to say hello, goodbye and “I like coffee,” Barlow also teaches an exhaustive list of insults, such as the creative “tits like the Mountain Snowden.”
“The Welsh people can be pretty fiery,” says Barlow.
Check out the video to learn some Welsh!

problem is, most is intermingled with English history, and because of that it gets ignored.

All I know are two others Alba gu brath ( Scotland forever in gaidhlig ) and the one for my ancestral homeland Erin go Bragh ( Ireland forever ) mums maiden name is welsh Tydd but we can only trace them back to lorrha in the northern part of county Tipperary so we don't know if they might have migrated from Wales beforehand

According to New Zealand linguists, Welsh is no longer endangered. I hope they're right but foretelling the future is an exercise is futility. Thank you for the swear words. One of the most irritating myths about Welsh is that they're aren't any swear words.

+Whyx They're from Wrexham which is dead near Chester and Liverpool, the people there have northern-english accents

In Wrexham we sound more English than Welsh because we're so near the English border but we still like to believe we have an accent. Some have stronger accents than others. It depends. I go to a Welsh school outside Wrexham therefore I have a stronger accent than others.
