    I have diabetic for 30 years and pumping for 15 of them, never had any doctor help very much, I'm 75 now and still learning every single day. Only had about four times my A1C been over 7, I hvae to change with my body or I would be lost!

    I’ve learned so much from your videos. Thank you for doing them. My last AIC was 5.9!
    From this T1D (47 years 💪🏼 & on Tandem Control IQ & Dexcom G6 👏🏻) to you, you rock! Keep up the great work! God bless!

    Sometimes it's very difficult to balance all these things basal, bolus, and correction combined with food, stress, etc. I still struggle with that (even after 33 years of being type 1). But with my FreeStyle Libre I am getting better.
    I recently discovered so called super bolus (aka replacing a couple hours of post meal basal rate with higher bolus just before meal to imitate pre-bolus in situations where I don't have time to pre-bolus), do you also use this?

    • @FTFWARRIOR
      @FTFWARRIOR  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You know what, I've heard of that, but I've never actually used it! I might have to give it a go!

      I do this a lot! I didn’t know it had a name though. I don’t have a formula for it. I just “guess” and it usually works ok. I do this with slower carbs like beans.

    I would LOVE it if you did a video about proteins and fats and when and how much YOU bolus for them. I can adjust as necessary, but I need to learn. I can’t get 100% in range (70-150 is my set range). The highest I can get is 98%. I Usually run in the 80% range. It’s frustrating.

      Happy to add that to the list of videos! And While I can hit 100%... it's not a daily thing. Diabetes is tough! I'm sure you're doing your absolute best and that's all that matters.

    what calculation do you do to figure out your basal rate per hour for the omnipod? vs say the 10 units a day of lantus? i heard possible dividing by 24?

    • @FTFWARRIOR
      @FTFWARRIOR  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes and no.. unfortunately it's a little more fine tuned than that. You'll have to run consecutive basal tests to determine your true rates (which can be dangerous if done wrong). I'd recommend having that chat with your doctor or jumping into the link in the description of this video to get some starting tips

    and as well the past two weeks I've given myself more than the doubt of dosage of insulin, I was at 9.8 for my Bolus now the doc has me set at 11 I'm just scared it's not giving me enough since it been 24 hours, and its a little worst but I'm still running high

    With you being so fit, do you wear your dexcom and pump on your stomach? If you take MDI’s do you use your abdomen? I’m a pretty fit/skinny guy and am developing some fatty/scar tissue from my injections over the years and am noticing my insulin has become more and more resistant. Maybe because of using the same spots a lot. Thinking of branding out to my arms or thighs which also don’t have alot of fat and that freaks me out

      I do a little bit of everything, trying to rotate sites as much as possible to avoid that scar tissue for sure

    Rage boluses were the reason I got here.
    I had a pretty crazy few days. I was going on bine eats + rage boluses, which weren't effective..

    I have a question about the carb ratio on the pump I've been having a lot of highs the past 2 weeks but my Doc put up carb ratio dose this mean it gives me more insulin flow or less or is the insulin flow giving me please someone help me I'm to the point IDK what to do

    • @FTFWARRIOR
      @FTFWARRIOR  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately, without knowing much more about you and your unique situation, it's difficult to even open a conversation about insulin, as it is a very touchy topic. Unfortunately, I cannot give medical advice on TH-cam
