Man has been the ones who have put so much pressure on weman to be perfect! I lived that life for 30 years! Now i have alot of health issues due to trying to be perfect! By God's grace i got out of that marriage 😊
Great movie! I'm so glad Ellen is still fighting the good fight with three beautiful children. I'm sorry she and her husband got divorced (he's remarried). I love everything Crystal Bernard is in. Wonderful actress Thx for the upload. 💛
Later they did get divorced though. Marriages suffer severely and are even destroyed, because of this insane body image problem. Mostly it seems husbands get critical of their wives' appearance; to then eventually reject them completely as they grow older. Hence why there are as many older, divorced men; who are marryjng women as old as their daughters; or in some cases as old as their grandchildren. Maintaining a slender, youthful appearance has become an obsession in our society, with many making their living by feeding off women's vulnerability. Voices cheering this madness on, are numerous (including from the medical field).
*_When I was in college bulimia was very much a thing. Even I practiced it then and for several years afterwards in a desperate measure to stay thin. Staying thin was the driving force behind it for most. But for the most part, I controlled it. It never made me feel good or high like it did some people, which is prolly a blessing in disguise. I totally hated it. And one thing I would NEVER do is admit it to anyone ... and I definitely never did nor would ever have scavenged through garbage !!! Today you couldn't pay me to practice this insidious, self-loathing habit._*

My mother in law always complains on what me and my husband buy to eat sometime I feel she’s jealous because she doesn’t eat much because right now her iron levels are very high, she doesn’t eat red meat & not much calories and carbs she’s very skinny! She also fat shames me and her son my husband because she doesn’t know what it’s like to be bigger person because she’s always been skinny! I feel like not eating anymore because of her!
My mother in-law said the reason her son cheated on me because I had a 10 lb baby and needed to lose weight. I just had the baby and almost died from hemorrhaging 😢. Give me a break.
It’s been since 2008 for me so going on 17 years. I’ve had a few breaks from it, but it always comes back. It’s really an addiction and it’s hell as you say.
Self-soothing by ingestion of food, is simple to understand as an addiction. This would result in obesity (an outcome opposite to anorexia/ starving oneself). Ellen was fighting both anorexia and bulemia; with common goal to not gain weight. The issue of being in control cannot be ignored. Yet, would it be correct to conclude that the fear of body fat lies at the root, and is the main driver here?
This is a good movie based on a true story. Ellen has a eating disorder that her coach fault he told her she need to lose weight. She shouldn't listen to him she had a perfect body. She could of went to Olympic Games and she was good runner and could win a gold medal. She need to see a therapist and she need to get better and put on weight she is pregnant and she could lose her baby. She lucky she got a good husband who support her.
I think Gail was one of the women that are seen in the Overeaters Anonymous (OA) meeting (I googled OA to see what it meant). I assume it's a kind of peer group therapy session like those of Alcoholics Anonymous. 🙂
I lived in Denver when those two were the talk of the town. A beautiful couple. He had great promise. I had no idea she was suffering with bulemia. So sad. We moved to NYC and then to San Francisco and lost touch with their activities. Sadly they divorced.
Once you hear that Saxophone, you know the movie is from the 80's or 90's, awesome
How true or how true?
Yes
💯 true. No doubt about it.😊
Who cares

Thanks for sharing! 😊
I am so proud of her and her family but especially her husband. He stayed by her side and did not run away like many partners would.

I feel for those who go through this torture and agony.
*_That is EXACTLY what it is !!!_*
Poor dear lady, we all have addictions of some kind unfortunately.
No , we don't .

Good movie! Like Christine Bernard!❤😊
Crystal Bernard corrected
Black Therapist stood on complete business 👏🏾❤️
Listening to her helped me. Live in the moment. Also, there is pain in life.
I used to be bulimic & am not & haven’t been for many decades…you can recover & feel your feelings & not throw up or use food as your drug
:0)
Excellent movie 🎥 The actor who played the mayor Pena. I think he played Bob the brother of Richie Valens in “La Bamba” Lou Diamond Phillips
Esai Morales 🤎
Yes excellent iconic movie
La Bamba brings me to tears but oh so worth watching ❤
Yes, Esai Morales is a very gifted actor. He did portray Richie Valens’s brother, Bob, in the biopic, La Bamba.
He was absolutely brilliant.🏆
If you could only think like we think it would save people from eating disorders

Don't worry about her, you just do you. She doesn't matter along as you and hubby are happy that's all that matters ❤❤
*_R u serious??? Tell your rude and destructive mother in law to keep her ugly opinions to herself._*
Let her. Give her remarks no vibe. Keep doing what's best for you. Not always easy but it is sound advice.

i lived in 28 years of bulimic HELL and it is HELL

Living in that cycle is hell
sending you strength to find and love your body and health
SO SORRY to hear that. Hope you're doing much better. You got this, Nancy! God bless.
Ellen and Frederico ended up with 3 children and they divorced in 2001.
Lucky Frederico. Bet he was relieved.🤭🙄
I just had 2 tacos w fish onions tomato
And avocado was very good 😊 ❤
So we are watching'

@@ddivincenzo1194 Okay, thanks for the info! 🙂❤️
Crystal was in Wings
Who is she?
She is the former Mayor of Denver's wife. Then they moved to Washington DC to work with Clinton.
I don't know where they are now.

Your bullying tactics won't get me thin, but your hazing could end a bully in jail and I will continue to report it!!!!
Yeah, I am finding this character. Very annoying. She has such a nice husband, but she seems to almost totally disregard him.
God, this woman has done nothing but complain about just Everything 😮
Yes. Real pain in the ass.
Always blaming I m parent ur also she got so much love
That truly is foul
Oh geez this isn't a running movie at all. Bait and switch, it's a eating disorder movie. PASS.
The lots of running at the beginning, was partly to blame for her developing the eating disorder. The coach encouraged her to lose weight.
Well the title, Dying to be Perfect gives that away.
Why would anyone watch a movie about people running? It would be like watching golf.
@@ArielJustice-g2x Sorry that says nothing about her eating disorder.
I wouldn't want this childish woman as my lawyer. So many issues. Marries busy public man then moans about it for one.🤷♀️🦘
