I have finally learned enough Chinese to be able to watch Sheng Yilun’s dramas without reading the English subtitles, thanks to his clearly pronouncing every word in his songs which I listen to practice my Chinese daily. To me, Sheng Yilun is like a great Shakespearean actor. His beautiful and expressive eyes telegraphed the feelings of the characters he portrayed so well. I am now re-watching Go princess Go and Oh My General, and I still cannot believe that Sheng Yilun played these 2 completely opposite characters, Qi Sheng and Yujin, which are also different from Wentian’s character in God of Lost Fantasy. No matter how many times I watched his dramas, I still marvel at how he brought such diverse characters to life when he is still so young. What a truly great and talented actor. Plus, he is multi-talented. He acts, sings and dances well. He plays the leads in movies on the big screen, and is also a successful model. Love him! Any criticism by others of him is definitely done out of jealousy.
