This was an in store performance at my record shop Secret Sounds in Bridgeport CT 10/17/92 - there is an interview and I have the whole set on tape - i only gave one friend a copy of the video and she let some creepy tape trader copy it... :-/ Juliana had a cold and coughed a bit but soldiered on! it was a great day! Maybe one day i will upload the whole thing along with Stereolab, Ivy, High Llamas and a few others...
... and that creepy tape trader made copies ... and so on, and so on. Also: My Sister, He'd Be A Diamond, Ugly, Nirvana, Tamara, & Feed Me. That 1992 Bridgeport performance and walking interview (about 44 minutes total) is on the end of a VHS tape I found of a Royal Oak, MI. show of 5-25-'95
I was there. I asked Juliana to sign my copy of It's a Shame About Ray...which she did but I think she thought was weird. I remember she said something like 'but you can't even hear the bass on there'. Anyway, that was a great performance and Secret Sounds was a great store.
Thanks so much for putting this back up. It disappeared for years and I thought it was gone for good. Really one of my favorite videos on TH-cam. Really what TH-cam was made for - one off time capsule performances like this.
Can't thank you enough for putting this up. Trying to learn it on guitar to attempt a lame cover, and I'm just blown away, it's the best version I've heard, period..
@D.W. Shepherd This is why we can't have nice things! I tried a cover of this at my channel, it must be terrible, it's banned in denmark for some reason?
Don't know Bret, when I find an amazing vid I rip it, just in case someone decides they want to take it away from our cultural history! You should re-upload that vid!

What a time to be alive. I was 12 and in the UK, but now I'm watching this and wishing I was there. Upload the rest dude!

well said
My favorite rendition of the song.
Absolutely mesmerising. Her voice works so well for the song.
Dreamy. I casually met her in '91 at a Lemonheads show. I was a crazy Blake Babies fan so I was quite excited.
A lovely song, and a beautiful cover.
Love my Lemonheads and Juliana Hatfield phase
Beautiful rendition! ❤
I love Juliana. Her voice is so sweet and pleasing to the ear. She is one of the few 90s stars I still follow.

@D.W. Shepherd Ah, story of my life, I get that all the time. It's a real shame. Take care out there.

Reminds me of that movie Rockstar near the end when Mark Wahlberg decides to be a "folk-singer" somewhere in Seattle.
