In the case of Shiva, the main negative lead, Raghuvaran was already an established actor in Tamil industry, and had already made his debut in Hindi in the Dilip Kumar starrer "Izzatdaar" a couple of years back.
RGV never got the recognition he deserved. Bollywood always tried to put him down! Shiva in Telugu was the last trend setter. We are talking about 30 years ago!
RGV can be called almost pathbreaking in the way he mixed commercial & realism. The 1sts - Shiva in college movies, Raat in horror, Rangeela in romance, Satya in gangster. 4 pathbreaking movies in 4 different genres is enough to say- he was a genius...

His last film in Telugu, Lakshmi's NTR (AP's Ex-CM NTR's last few years story) was extraordinary, displayed his true skills. The result of it is that it badly affected Chandra Babu Naidu's re-election campaign that he lost. People were losing confidence in Naidu, but after this movie, everything went upside down for him. Extraordinary movie!

Actually Anurag Kashyap hasn't created any new genr or sub genr of crime but blatantly copied Ram Gopal Verma school of filmmaking, literally the first noir filmmaker in Hindi cinema. You can make a video on this subject because Indian people always fail to recognize real talent but go for fake ones.
Anurag Kashyap admits that Ram Gopal Varma is his mentor. Anurag Kashyap filmmaking style is similar to RGV but Anurag Kashyap shows the reality better. He puts real life crimes or cases in a contrasting story which adds on. Best example is Dev D. How Chanda's backstory is shown inspired by the real MMS scandal in Delhi and how the hit and run case is shown inspired in the end. Compare Shiva with Gulaal. Shiva has not shown the real ragging and how it takes place whereas Gulaal shows many things. Anurag Kashyap gives time to each character and he puts in his personal experiences also. RGV is a legend and he is the one who brought this cinema but we can't deny the fact that Anurag Kashyap has struggled these years and given us gems and has added on to the creativity of RGV and AK has originality

Illayaraja's music (both songs and bgm) is extremely prominent and powerful in all of his movies and changes the entire dimension of the movie altogether, some of them are: Sadma, Anjali, Sigappu Rojakkal, Anveshana, Nayakan, Thalapathi, Apoorva sagodharargal (exceptional music in first crime scene, followed by the chase scene and then the title score), Agni natchathiram etc., Siva was, however, not the only one, even though it demands its own praise for his music. If you see any Illayaraja bgm score serious movies, it produces chills down the spine even today (watch Anveshana, 1985 telugu, chase and suspense scenes). BTW, Siva telugu version has a lot more intense music than in Hindi, just listen to the title score in Telugu, and bgm for Bhavani's entrance scene.

If you see any Illayaraja bgm score serious movies, it produces chills down the spine even today (watch Anveshana, 1985 telugu, chase and suspense scenes). BTW, Siva telugu version has a lot more intense music than in Hindi, just listen to the title score in Telugu, and bgm for Bhavani's entrance scene.
Ya even i feel that the BGM pieces in Telugu is far more intense than the Hindi version.

Shiva is one of my favourite films. I watched Shiva long long back when I was in 4th standard. For the first time I saw fighting with bicycle chain but using it like knuckle. Its a great film.
