I had that toy story mid sleeper at 1:22:09, I remember when a Blackberry curve was the cool new phone :), remember looking over the Club Penguin section at 1:52:40 as well as the PS3 and wii sections. Also recall being really, REALLY excited for the 3DS.
i was specifically looking for the late 2010 catalogue but this one thankfully had what i was looking for (i wanted to prove the wii was less than £200 before late 2011)

I was just on a little search to find out when the last CRT TV's were manufactured, and it turns out to have been 2011. I thought I'd take a look at the 2011 Argos catalogue, just to see if there were still any being sold by then. Nope. It's interesting how the landscape shifted so quickly. Early 2000's was still dominated by CRT, then by the end of the decade it was all LCD. But what I note in this selection, in the 2011 Argos catalogue, is that 16:9 still hadn't been entirely settled upon as the standardised aspect ratio. At timestamp 21:52, those first two budget sets have a wacky aspect ratio going on there. What is that?! It's not 16:9, it's not 4:3, is it 16:10? Whatever it is, it's a dubious middle ground between 4:3 and 16:9. Serves nobody well. But from the huge and rapidly evolving advances in TV technology we saw right from the dawn of television through to the early 2000's, it's interesting how we reached a sudden crunch by around 2010. Looking at these sets in 2011, they're not really any different from what we have now in 2024. Bezels have got thinner in higher end models, and pretty much all sets now have streaming capability. But there's almost no change beyond that. Put a lower end model from 2011 next to one from 2024, they're mostly the same.
