- Two classic melodies recorded Feb 18th 2011 during a recent, informal concert given by musical entertainer, Peter Hayward.
A spontaneous jazz arrangement inspired by a friendly, enthusiastic audience and by the sheer enjoyment of playing on a superb, new Yamaha Clavinova piano.
Great sound, and lovely 'feel' to the notes... laid back, relaxed and enjoyed making music just for the fun of it. Enjoy !
For details of Peter's CD recordings, please check out his pages at : www.organ.co.uk
AS always, simply wonderful. Loved every note.
Thank you very much for your kind comment, and for listening to my music. Best wishes - Peter :)
@Televersity Thankyou for listening to my music, and for your kind comment. For me it was one of those magical moments when the music itself takes over, and I am just the 'middle-man'. Best wishes, Peter.
@Thedaanvo Thanks for listening, and for your kind comments. Unfortunately it is not MY new Clavinova... I am still saving up!!
The instruments belong to some good friends of mine in the UK, whom I visited recently and played a (very) informal evening concert for them and an invited group of their friends. Really friendly, happy people.
In the background is a 3 manual Conn, Yamaha HX-1, Hammond Colonnade, plus a Tyros (just out of shot).
Thanks again for listening. Best wishes - Peter.
@Organgrinder010 Really pleased you enjoyed these classic melodies. Thankyou very much for listening to my music. - Best wishes, Peter.
Your "laura" burns into my very soul, it ignites my being, thank you most kindly,(I drove "mallard" on one of its last runs over the Settle to Carlisle line on 13/8/88),john.
John Anthony Hello John, Thank you very much for your kind message and for listening to my music. Driving the Mallard must have been a wonderful experience, never to be forgotten.Best wishes - Peter :)
... wow = I love all your wonderful performance = 👏👍( yamaha clavinova is great - back in time I had it, too, but since a few years I gave it away, because my house is not big enough for so many Instruments 😉 ) ✌🎵🎼🎹
Hello, these little "home concert" films were recorded in a friends lounge, where he and his wife had several fantastic organs & pianos. (They were really keen on their music!) - Once a month, they would set out rows of chairs and invite close friends to enjoy concerts given by professional players. Always a great atmosphere of "Happy Music !!" - Best wishes - Peter :)
@PathaJ You are very kind. Thankyou very much for listening to my music. Best wishes - Peter.
Dear Peter, you have the same beautiful style and "joie de vivre" of Liberace ! Congratulations !!!
Hi Peter Just caught up with this one. Classic example of 2 great songs
Hi Peter, Thanks for your kind message, and I am happy that you "found" this one. I recorded it during a private ("at home") concert in the UK. The piano was a top-of-the-range Yamaha Clavinova which really "inspired" me on the show.
It's always good to play a top-range instrument... especially one that is miles out of my price-bracket. Glad you enjoyed these. Best wishes - Peter :)
@patrol681 Hi Ed and Wanda,
Thankyou very much for listening to this, and for your kind comments. So happy that you picked up on the 'Hall of the Mountain King' - at the time, it was screaming out to be played and so I slotted it in to the 'middle eight'.
The whole evening was so relaxed. Nice people, good instruments, and lots of smiles all round... Thanks again, and all best wishes from us in Sweden - Kathy & Peter.
Lindas melodias; escuto sempre. Parabéns!
Muito obrigado pela sua mensagem amigável. Saudações amigas da Suécia.
Peter :)
Excelente Pianista!!!
@patsaxon Hi Pat, You're right, my friends have a wonderful collection of excellent instruments. I could play them all day... and during my recent visit... I did. Thanks for listening, and best wishes - Peter.
Hi Peter,
I loved every moment of those two numbers, and especially the way you merged from Laura, into Georgia on my mind. I wonder though, how many listeners/watchers, detected the few bars of Grieg's :"Hall of the Mountain King" that you so skillfully worked in? You're certainly 'tops in our books',
Ed and Wanda.
Great piano medley played very smoothly! I can hear you're enjoying your new Clavinova.
There are a lot of organs in the background! Can you tell me the names of them?
What style did you use Peter ? Sorry, I am kidding, a fabulous performance. Brilliant playing and great to listen to.
Thanks for listening, Brian, and for your friendly message. Kind regards - Peter :)
Absolutely brilliant. The wife and I switched off the telly to listen to your excellent arrangement !!We both thoroughly enjoyed it. Ps What piano were you playing? Sounded fantastic :-)
Thank you very much for listening to my music, and for your friendly message. The piano belonged to some friends of mine who held regular "at home" concerts (organ/keyboard/piano) for their many friends, mostly members of the local organ club. The piano was a Yamaha (top of the range?) Clavinova which inspired me with its excellent tone & quality.
Thanks again, and welcome back again soon - Peter :)
What kind of piano are you playing there?
Hi Dave, I've no idea of the exact model number.... but it was a top-of-the-range Yamaha Clavinova belonging to some good friends who had invited me along to play an "at home" informal concert for their own friends. All very relaxed and friendly, with a great instrument to inspire me. Hope you enjoyed the music. Cheers - Peter :)
