Riddles looked a little off, he showed moments against Acola, but I think he just tilted pretty hard after his first loss. IMO cloud+ spargo is an easier matchup than Steve+Acola, it’s just a matter of which match he plays better
riddles was trying to land a demon god fist (while standing A). The problem is his timing was off and his crouch didnt come out. Thats why it looked like he did nothing on the last game. Its just an execution error that comes with playing kazuya.
Are people really surprised that people who won the past "majors" are losing here? Guys this tournament is so much more stacked than anything else these players had to win
Good run Riddles. 9th in a stacked tournament like this is no easy feat. There's definitely room for improvement for the Big House 10 Champion but that is competition. This would definitely be a good set to review and learn from.
Great match! Not going to lie. Fighting Cloud with a fighter character is rough. I can understand the frustration Riddles was going through. Granted Spargo was playing very well.

It sometimes feels like he isn't playing the same character as every other Cloud player. It doesn't seem possible that he should make some of the recoveries he makes, even without Limit
yuuuh cloud is actually a beast off stage you just gotta be aggressive and dont do dumb sh!t. that one balance buff that allows cloud to grab from further off the ledge is *INSANE* cloud still has dogsh!t recovery but if youre good at threading the ABSOLUTE edge of his recovery range he is far far better. its worth practicing if youre a cloud main. nothings more terrifying than a cloud chasing your ass offstage.
Riddles was REALLY off his game this tournament, but I’m sure next tournament, he’ll play up to his standard and even better too! 💪🏾💪🏾😤 stay strong riddles
One thing spargo really gets is mashing. In this it’s not about quality as much as quantity when you’re going against a character that HAS to have a close first hits. Those shenanigans don’t work against Leo with his spacing, but in some matchups man, he is all over him and kaz had no answer.
Sometimes you should up b first with Kazuya to get hit intentionally when he blade beamed you refresh your up b and side b and still have a jump and are up higher at a easier to recover from range
It absolutely BLOWS my mind how we are over a year out from Kazuya's release date and people in these comments are still saying "CARRIED ASS CHARACTER". I don't get how that can be true when still almost nobody at the top level plays him. People be real life making excuses for how bad they are at this game.
yuh shield parries are so precise no one should really bank on getting them... just shield and punish normally people, trying to parry in smash is gonna only get you Ls.

riddles really took 95% of unnecessary damage at 3:30 for being stubborn and then died for it, definitely not looking like the Big House 10 champ EDIT: watched the whole thing again and Spargo was in control the whole time, even losing that one game wasn’t even because riddles did anything impressive but Spargo getting the wrong hitbox

Kazuya is like ice climbers, one mistake and thats it. It is LITERALLY just routinely press buttons and you lose your stock to some kazuya combo that you cannot get out of. Kayuza shouldnt be allowed in tournaments.
Are you kidding me? Ice climber's 0 to death combos were incredibly easy to execute and the opponent couldn't do anything about them. Kazuya's are a lot harder and require the opponent to make mistakes.
I like how Riddles gets desperate in match #1 of the set as soon as he starts getting dominated and his carry character can't cut it. He also starts randomly mashing shit out with Kazuya. Top player right there 🤝
