If I had to guess it's because there's SO much available audio of Takuya Kuroda, and all the Yakuza protags for that matter, singing that it sounds way better than for example like an actor or something who has their speaking voice used to train the AI
Kiryu remembering he's in America where his favorite girlfriend is (she's probably still gonna be only a passing mention and grandpa Taichi Suzuki can't have a complete romantic relationship this time either)
Manly + romantic = rare amazing combo, especially in the moderm music landscape where males tend to be gay and cringe when singing songs of this nature
