Finally seeing someone other than Pattu sir showing us the realistic not so glamourous side of SIP as well. It doesn't mean we should stop, but we should keep our expectations in check
Recently I've been watching 5-6 years old videos of 'freefincal' aka Pattu and he's talked about it in multiple videos and in great detail. Glad to see others are covering the topic as well.
MAKE YOUR INVESTMENTS GOAL ORIENTED 1) Start investing early 2) Increase SIP amount by 5-10% every year 3) Rebalance your portfolio periodically to protect your gains 4) Have a clear exit strategy for short term goals 5) Have a clear asset allocation strategy for each goal
Hi Thanks for your tips. I was wondering whether to quit or continue SIP when market was high...but I continued it. Your Tip no. 4 assured me that continuing was right decision.
In your old app, one could see one's total investment break up of large, mid and small cap. But now in updated version, it is not seen. Bring that feature back.
Recently saw lot of your videos to make a good mutual fund portfolio for myself. Gained a good knowledge of factor indices. But can you make a video covering combination of some equity indices (preferably momentum and value) and a balanced advantage fund?
I wonder this may not be an absolute apple to apple comparison, coz 1 element is missing here. "What did the person do of the amount that he paused his SIP, what if he is able to invest it in a high yield intrument?" And so that money added to SIP amount is the actual comparison!!! But hey, I am just being over thinking here. I really liked this video. This is really great stuff.
1. Sip don't give good return 2. Low sip returns in the beginning can be good 3. Your sip contributions matter more then the sip return 4. Stopping sips at market highs doesn't work 5. Debt fund sips may not make much sence

True that. Investment amount matters more than the returns % even though we are doing SIP!

The first point should be SIPs don't 'always' give good returns
