Omg I remember seeing that on Bad Influence and thinking it was a good (yet hugely copyright-infringing) idea. The additional cart port would have been the main appeal for me as I wasn’t too aware of imports back in the day. So for it not too have it would have made it a bit redundant for me. It’s look does have an AT-Games MD vibe to it. The box design is awesome, love the red tip of the scorpions tale 😃. I’m reluctant to ask how much it’s being sold for 😁
@@gingerhippygaming7962 definitely a collectors piece. Really interesting to see one as Ive never saw one apart from on Bad Influence and your channel now :)
My cousin had a Scoprion 8 (a NES clone) we spent hours playing it. The 16 is a very strange thing if it had not been for that Bad Influence clip then it would have flown under the radar and no one would care about it. I very nice oddity that some collector will love
I have a scorpion 8 it looks really nice and the pads are longer. Yes the 16 whuld of been totally forgotten if it wasn't for that one clip on the show. Nice nit od gaming history I'm happy I got to try one
I own two of these , an MG16 (shell colour variant and rebadge of Scorpion XVI) and a TW-168 ( no front audio output circuitry) , both the consoles are locked to PAL letterboxed mode but this can be changed with a jumper wire .Not sure if it’s the same on the Scorpion but both my units have a non standard clock crystal for pal or ntsc it’s more like a hybrid but both pal and ntsc games work and the slight speed up in ntsc games is noticeable you’ll hear the difference in sound and during gameplay can be felt as games run smoother, certain games need a code to boot regardless when using an Everdrive MD .
@@gingerhippygaming7962 Rocket Knight Adventures needs a master code and a region code CTBT-AA4Y (Master Code) A2BT-AA7W (E/U region Code) * not certain but give it a try .
@@gingerhippygaming7962 I made a joke and no comment about the video, my bad. Here, in latam, piracy was common. So you don't really know if your console was original or a clone. Now, 30+ years later I can say my NES and my GENESIS were both clones. I've never got any problem with cartiges or something. A cool feature I remember my GENESIS had was a PAL/NTSC switch under it, so you can change regions.
Regarding the sound, it seems like the channel levels aren’t quite right, and some channels are slightly lower or higher than others. The actual reproduction of the various channel sounds seem pretty good though
Hey Si me bro. wow never seen one in an up close review like this only heard of from back in the day. Would have been a brilliant cheap alternative for sure to the 40 to 45 quid a piece games I was buying. What a great piece of gaming history on show here. Nice one Si mate enjoyed this a lot 😎🏴👍
I'd love that famiclone megadrive . Also I thought i heard the headphones jack was a output to go in a stereo system to give you the better sound I.e stereo
@gingerhippygaming7962 we didn't have many most of the time I just had them borrowed from friends or uncles . We mostly preferred having computers like the amstrad first then the atari st etc etc until we got to windows 95 and then I bought myself a ps1 . I did get consoles for my birthday but they were sold on not longer including my favourite the gamegear I watched TV on it more lol
Never received mine has a kid has it was meant to be sent in the mail this maybe it 😂 we ended up going to get something else in the I think the amiga . Honestly if I had the money I'd have bought this . We wanted the system has the old Wednesfield market had a guy who could import American games .
@gingerhippygaming7962 well it was in a listening in a paper or magazine I forget which it looked "official" but has it never came I guess it got lost or something. Has it was before Internet we couldn't hunt things down . We got imports through maul no problem but that

Konami games will not play even on Japan Megadrives.
I never used it for headphomes but I did run it through my stereo system from that headphone jack
Will need to try it

You know such clones were in many cases better than originals. I'm writing it according to my experience. A nice review.
The media megadrive I showed is definitely one of the built like a tank. The scorpion not so much. Thanks for watching

Very cool, i never used the headphone socket for headphones, but had a mini Y cable out to my stereo 😎

Thanks for watching

Never heard of it, didn't watch bad influence.
Was never into import games, always bought uk releases.
No wonder sega shut them down, total rip off 🤣
