    Just wow! Specially the second shot, is just mind-blowing. Perfect shot, I don't know exactly why, but reminds me a lot of the portrait of Madame X, of John Singer Sargent. Maybe is because the shot haves a pictorial feel. Amazing work.

      Yeah! I am sure the black and white should appear at some point in the next couple of months, and then I hope they have another round of color right after that.

      Thank you! Their film has been awesome for the last year at least, so I was hoping it would show well in this, and it has.

    Car photogs I assisted in the 80's used it all the time and lots of it.

      Oh yeah! I remember seeing that on a Dean Collins video. I definitely prefer digital as a preview medium over Polaroid, but I oddly prefer Polaroid as a final form over digital. Interesting how things evolve!

    Great results mate, I just made this TH-cam channel on a whim yesterday thinking I might put some of the full version tracks from the Lucy Lumen channel up but don’t know how long it will be till I actually get around to it.

      Thank you! I need to place an order for some more film, too. Especially now that I can shoot a bit more without it instantly getting too hot. ha.

    Awesome stuff..one day I want to have a system like this..just curious what lens do you have?..I was researching a lens between 270-350mm to start with..

    • @JamieMPhoto
      @JamieMPhoto  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I am kind of surprised there's not some kind of more viable alternative because it truly is just two heavy rollers with a motor or hand crank. Even with the tiny market it, it seems like someone could cook up something. And since it costs the same as a typical box of 8x10 film now, it's somehow more accessible. I have a 300mm Fuji lens, but also have a 240 Sinar/Rodenstock lens. The 240 covers and has faster shutter speeds, so it's a nice and relatively cheaper alternative. The 300 is amazing, though, and still doesn't cost a ton ($500-ish I think). And thank you!

      @@JamieMPhoto Yeah right..even an update "processor/printer" would be good..im just worried that later down the line I hope their are still some that are in good working condition..I just like this setup bc it gives you a chance to feel the process and history of photography in a more convenient "Polaroid" way lol

    thank you for the video...do you know why i just cant buy this film anymore. is it discontinued ????

    • @JamieMPhoto
      @JamieMPhoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're welcome! Not discontinued, but they make it by hand in very small batches, so it's really hard to find. I got mine when I checked the website on a hunch and got lucky. The email alerts didn't work then. Every time since, the email alerts have worked, but it's been gone within 1-12 hours. I need to look to see when it will go back into production, but I highly recommend using the email alert and checking periodically to see if they make changes to the site. Every time something is altered, there's usually some kind of restock on the horizon within a month. I hope there's another soon, for sure!

      Well shoot, if you're not too late, they have color!! www.polaroid.com/en_us/products/color-instant-film-for-8x10

    Oh wow they were amazing, well done Jamie. I can’t even bring myself to shoot my last packs of FP100C because I’m scared I’ll mess it up 😅

    • @JamieMPhoto
      @JamieMPhoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you!! I've been hanging onto some FP myself for the same reason! I finally shot all but one sheet of my 4x5 FP after botching the first two frames a year or two earlier. Now I have a normal size pack and 2 potential Polaroid packs to use before it completely dries out. I say it's better to maybe miss a few or even completely ruin a few if you get a few shots vs. letting all of them go to waste from drying or letting the colors shift too hard.

    • @MattLovesCameras
      @MattLovesCameras 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JamieMPhoto yes that’s a good point of view! When it was still available I trashed a pack by pulling too hard, it all came out in one go 😿 i should start shooting it!

    • @JamieMPhoto
      @JamieMPhoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ouch! Yeah, I killed the first two shots of my 4x5 pack like that. It had just been so long since I loaded it that I forgot exactly how. That was after not shooting it for several years already ... But when the first one came out, it was totally worth it. The color was even still great!

  • @carltanner9065
    @carltanner9065 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Damn you, Jamie!! Now I've got to go buy myself an 8x10 and the rest of the gear to do all of this!!! :) :P Pity they don't do it in 4x5.

    • @JamieMPhoto
      @JamieMPhoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha, at least it makes the money worth it! I do wish they'd bring back some form of 4x5, too. Or at least supply materials for someone to do that.

    • @JamieMPhoto
      @JamieMPhoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Totally understand! I think as with most large format things, a little extra time and attention to detail (and not panicking if things go wrong like when I didn't get the tab engaged correctly the first time) go a long way. I don't think I managed to fit it in the video properly, but I actually found a dark closet and set the film right in the carrier before I got it to develop. Much easier the 2nd and 3rd tries. Good luck, and I am sure you'll do well!
