    Johnny Carson’s greatest skill was being able to communicate with any guest on a one to one basis. It didn’t matter whether the guest was a pauper or king. He never talked down to anyone or up to anyone. He never tried to upstage a guest.

    • @sportsfan5548

    He really reinvented his personality. I remember when he was fighting Ali, he said very little in public, and had a sort of reserved, dangerous demeanor. I don't know if that was his management advising him to appear like that, or if he just got more comfortable in the public eye later on, but you would have never expected him to be warm and funny like this early on...

    • @pkoven
      @pkoven 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      i think the opposite is true, based upon what he said in other interviews. this was his real personality all along. his younger public persona was something he thought he had to do, and copied it from Sonny Liston. he basically returned to himself, showing his real self.

    While working an HBO boxing event, Foreman was walking toward my friend and I. I said hello, Mr Foreman. He looked at me, looked at my friend, who is the same skin color as George, and said hello to him. My friend did not speak back and we both agreed to never buy one of his damn grills after that.

    George is such a nice guy that I wouldn’t even mind it if he kicked my ass!

      I think you 'would mind' after he hit you with a right uppercut! Well, you wouldn't mind at the time because you'd be out cold. Its after you came to, (if you ever did!) that you would be FEELING sorry! LOL!!!

    When Ali beat Foreman, it's probably the biggest upset in heavy weight history: George destroyed his competition
