HEPA filter test demonstration - DOP test

A basic overview of installed HEPA filter leakage testing for ISO14644-3 compliance with a Photometer. This video shows a laskin nozzle Aerosol Generator, PIP (positive injection pump), sparge pipes for aerosol mixing, and the DOP touch Photometer for measuing the upstream challenge and downstream %penetration.

Its actually advised that the aerosol challenge is introduced ten duct diameters upstream of the filter in order to produce a well mixed challenge. One would think in a bench top laboratory test the design would meet IEST requirements.

0:03 oil dispersing and air compressing machine at the inlet of air filtering machine. This test is to measure efficiency of air filtering machine by releasing oil particles at inlet and measuring particles at outlet.
0:40 Perforated pipe to release oil particles at inlet.
1:56 calibrating the particle testing machine for maximum and minimum value of oil particles upstream and downstream for measurement.
2:55 measuring outlet for oil particles. (This machine failed the test)

The test procedure is wrong, at no point did the gasket/seal get checked and neither did any of the housing. You can’t just test the filter face
