Sturgeon are crazy looking things ! I have a picture of me and my lil cousin as kids like 4years old my dad and uncle where shrimping right here at home in southeast Louisiana and was about 3 miles off the southwest shore by the New Orleans airport and they stopped an was picking up because they swore they has a big log in the trawl but it was a 9 1/2 ‘ sturgeon and my uncle wanted it so they got it onto the boat and called the green Jeans and LSU came out took samples and everything they do and bring it home that was back in the 70’s have the pics in a album and still amazes me how big it was 🤙🏼🤙🏼
We fish them here every year, and it’s incredibly fun.
I’ll be purchasing a couple loaded baits when available, but not for smallmouth 😂. Can’t wait

Man looking at that swimbait and had my mind working. Love to see the same idea but in a goby, profile would be a killer idea. I cam imagine dragging a big goby looking bait and that thing getting destroyed. Awesome video Chris for sure.

Maybe suspend the bait with some catfish peg floats for the sturgeon. That's what I woulda tried next. Though not everybody has any laying around on a bass boat hahaha but if ya picked up worms....

There are seasons on sturgeon angling. Check state regs. Every rod you own is too light. Think saltwater gear. Heavy. The biggest I have tangled with was a 70” that was snagged in the tail musky trolling. 25+ minutes to get it in the net. We didnt try to bring it in the boat. I’d guess it went 100lbs. They have more fight than any fish in freshwater. Be a little over gunned next time

Imo you’ve been more focused on googan content and sponser videos your bass mafia bait this season. Remember where you came from before all the “extras” when all you had was raw Zaldain skill. You ARE the best out there, top 10 every tourney, but I think you need to refocus your mind all in on BASS during the season. Much love from Sonoma county Big Z

3rd comment I know I know, but when you use that 5/0 flipping hook for the swimbait, are you cutting the bait keeper off of the hook so that it slides in the cavity easier? I couldn't tell. Asking for a friend 😂🫡✌️
