People immigrate to Finland and get residence permits mainly based on work or studies.
People who have moved based on work should already have secured jobs before moving to Finland. So you probably are talking about students.
The unfortunate fact has been that the requirement for having sufficient funds for supporting living in Finland had been calculated in 2013 and not adjusted since then. It was and is, in the form of the Proof of Funds, 560 Euro per month.
Inflation in over 10 years has made the amount insufficient.
Starting from the start of November, it will be the new recalculated more reasonable amount, 800 Euro per month. This will be a more realistic minimal monthly budget. Hopefully it will help people to make more realistic budgeting.
The advice of not assuming that students with no marketable professional skills and without local language skills could trust to be able to support their living based on income from some part-time jobs has not changed. You can't be relying on income which is irregular and not always available.

The state Finland is right now, I wouldn’t encourage anyone to come here ooh. Just look for another country. A friend of mine have been here for three years without job. Very intelligent guy ooh.

    • @vivianedih6886
      @vivianedih6886 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Ur just discouraging people, if the guy is intelligent he suppose to know how to make use of his opportunity like learning online job and working remotely. If u can't afford tuition fee apply for fully funded scholarships and use it and japa. No country is easy all country hard.

    • @just42tube

Intelligence alone isn't a marketable professional skill.

@just42tube He is good no doubt. Did his masters here and he has done lots of courses also online. Do you know the problem? No language skills. He enrolled to learn the Finnish language, and he speaks to some extent and they've been turning him down for the past three years now. Well, do you know how bad the economy is right now in Finland? Only nurses and nursing students you would see talking about moving to Finland blablabla. If not health care, wetin again? 😒 Na everybody go do health care?.

Language skills are very important in all jobs where communication is needed, and almost always it is. The selection of jobs where English is all you need and local language does matter is significance limited and even then those who have better languages skills have a advantage. It's difficult, since become fluent in a new language takes significant effort and time.
I have been observing economic changes in Finland a long time and seen it go through some recessions during the last 50 years. The current situation isn't exceptionally difficult from that perspective.
It's also not affecting all industries or companies very much.
But it's very difficulty in some industries and some effects are felt everywhere.

I don't personally know all different fields of study to be able to really know the labour market dynamics sufficiently to say where it has been a good idea to use English as the language of tuition in Finland. As we probably both know, in some industries and companies English can be enough for some job positions.
When study programs using English started to become more common, I was already out of higher education. I had my doubts. First I thought that foreign language students would naturally leave and go back to their home counties or at least move to English speaking countries.
Later I learned that many intended to stay and many companies had plans to employ international talent, as they are often labeled.
I have seen studies of how this has gone and what problems have been discovered: language skills, cultural conflicts or challenges, xenophobic reactions, difficulties in predicting what skills are needed in some years time, the list goes on. Different people and groups pick their own favourite reasons and use them to point the blame to others.
There are also people who are concerned that international talent could actually be a way for the employers to get an excess of workforce in Finland with the intention to keep wages lower. In some industries this seems to be clearly true like in the constrictor industry.
