I'm glad this movies coming out, but shouldn't there be an openly gay actor being casted in a film that focuses on the injustices of the LGBT community? During a time where there's no openly gay leading actors, because majority of Hollywood films focuses on heterosexual relationships

Please friends LGBT or Straight boycott this film! It erases key Drag Queens and Transgender people who were at the forefront of the Stonewall riot. A straight, cis, white dude being played the protagonist in Incredibly disrespectful.

+Andrew Boz I agree. There's so many openly gay actors who have not been discovered yet, and would have personally resonated with the character being an openly gay man. This is the role of a lifetime because if done the right way would lead to an Oscar, and there's no openly gay actors who have received the Oscar. This would have been historic for a gay man to be in a leading role that focuses on gay rights and equality, especially considering the fact that there's an under-representation of gays in the film industry.
