I’m screaming from the rooftop for someone to give me the name of this drama! This channel keeps posting the same scenes! I gotta see how this end and if she divorced or like all these old dramas for some reason she forgave him. I gotta know if anyone knows the end spoil it for me! 😢
These dramas of a certain age tend to show over the top dysfunctional relationships….we are horrified watching the abuse the FL suffers at the hands of her husband and ask ourselves why she does not leave him. Short answer …..if FL left him there would not have been a series of about 40 episodes. I pity the viewers who had to watch this every week until this ghastly ML and evil sister’s wrong doings are uncovered and they receive their deserved punishment. Although a work of fiction it does portray well how the poor woman suffers such ‘gaslighting ‘ by her husband. Incidentally physical abuse was not even accepted as grounds for divorce until 2001, when the marriage law was amended to explicitly ban domestic violence for the first time. Even then the definition of abuse was very narrowly defined and did not include co- habiting couples. After much campaigning a new law, passed in 2016 took the existing legislation by legally defining domestic violence as physical and psychological abuse of family members and cohabitating non-family members. It is a fact that domestic abuse occurs everyday in all parts of the world not just China. Too many times it is kept within the family …..hopefully attitudes are changing albeit slowly.
