Awesome vids!!, great explanation on mining reclamation in everyday terms, worked for 40 yrs in mining ,as an operator and as a supervisor in both production and reclamation situations, there is so much planning on the reclamation side of it that people don't know or don't want to know and its great to see you putting out great informational vids like this.

Thank you "MY MINING EXPERT FRIEND" your videos are amazing, the acsses that the Company lets you FILM. You ROCK in my Humble opinion, explaining the Reclaim Fill work. I Love this Reclaim work the big Mining Company do. They leave the Mines better looking than when started digging. The wildlife can flourish, and be good to mother earth. So,so glad you FILM this so important part of Mining work in today's world. It has to be shown to public, that the open pits are a thing of the past. Just like Logging with clear cut, the small baby trees are replanted. I have seen on highway that when i was younger it was clearcut, NOW 20 to 30 years later second growth is ready to harvest or just be left for Deer and elk, bears, wolves every breed of wildlife raise there family in. Again Thank you so much for showing reclamation of ground in Mining area.

Lol its not even close to a cold climate, ya we get few weeks of a coldsnap but rest of winter isnt bad a these guys making it seem like we live in siberia

Another question ❓❓ i have in my Humble opinion. The Excavator with ripper, why is it not double Hydraulic cylinder on the short dipper arm. I guess if it just lifts, NO pulling or pushing of dipper "OK" just a question ❓❓ about the massive Wt. But like you so brilliant pointed out. The Mining company knows what they are doing with reclaim. The single Hydraulic Cylinder must be power enough😊😊

What the chain in the excavator bucket for
I would like to know as well
In the first video at the mine he talks about it. The chains keep the sticky oil sand from building up inside the bucket. Each dump the chains bang around and it knocks some of the stuck material out each time. Otherwise the bucket would load up with stuck on material.
After years of loading on and off road trucks it got to the point that I couldn't do it any longer out of pure boredom. Within the first hour of the day , I was ready to commit sui - cide. LOL 😂 Great video.

4:41 LOL typical morgan. Track pad ripped in half. Did some contract work for these guys in their "poplar" equipment laydown. Zero organization. It's a free for all for mechanics, good if starting out, but goddamn its hard to feel like you get anything done up there. Had 3 guys quit in 4 weeks once signing the contract. Was a rough year for me, made zero money because i had to pay the mechanics as much as i could. Finally out of there and contracted to the big boys. Life is good now lol.

Why is this so hard to believe? If humanity simply just walked away nature would reclaim the area. It may take longer but it's guaranteed to occur.
@@anthonymorris5084 That's not how it works man, nature won't reclaim these oil sand pits even after a thousand years without doing these reclamation efforts. You need proper proper topsoil full of organics for plants to get nutrients, and suitable subsoil underneath. A forest can't just magically regrow in any type of soil. The overburden can't grow anything. Even just subsoil will only grow a sparse amount of weeds, to get the area to what it was like before needs proper management of that topsoil.

I'm surprised how such a big bucket they are using on the 395.. 9.5 yards isn't even available on the Caterpillar 395 list and then also with a long boom and long stick and even quick coupler, for such a hard and heavy material. The biggest HD bucket on the list has 8.5 yards and is even with a short boon ME configuration only usable for mild heavy material. For me the List doesn't make any sense because this configuration is theoretically unusable or not recommended.. 🤔
Custom built buckets because the overburden is such a light material you can use a bigger bucket to maximize production.
