For everyone asking, the anime is Tales of Zestiria, it’s also a PS4 game. The two have quite a few differences, especially in the 2nd season of the anime, and in my opinion the game is better, as the anime has quite a few plot holes. However, if you’ve no idea about the game, the anime does stand pretty well as a separate thing. No, they’re not strictly canon, but word of god and quite a lot of stuff in game really heavily imply that they’re intended to be. Neither of them end up with either of the two main girls - in fact, in the anime, (spoiler) the two main girls end up together. I very much do! *_* It's funny. I didn't /mind/ this song when it came on the radio, but now every time I hear it I have to turn it up because it reminds me of this AMV. So. Good times. XD I love matching audio-video, too, and I know it takes extra time and work. I've seen that AMVs don't get comments to the degree of fanart or fanfic, but they really should. Oh, and BTW they ARE canon... I can give you a 101 reasons for that. But ToZ the X kinda changed that a bit ... an apologist adaptation of the game version. I think we all know what Soralish fans feel, and they're the obvious target of the first cour. Let's wait n see if ufotable will do a plot twist of some sort... but even if they keep with the soralish pairing, it can't compete with Sormik. The semiotics of the original story is overwhelmingly Sormik (even without hideo baba supporting the analysis, because story elements determine the strength of the interpretation)... Mikleo is my best girl forever, the untouchable waifu!!!

Sorry for butting in, but as a fan to another fan, there's no reason to give up! if you think about clannad, that anime explored multiple pairings with the protagonist even when the original pair had a really strong fanbase (Tomoya x Nagisa). Ufotable is using the anime to appease sorali fans n that's it. I don't think they'd give in completely to that fanbase, n whatever it is it's just fanservice. The canon is the game version because that's how canon is defined--it's the original version. SO even sorali fans can't argue that their otp is the official one. The anime is an adaptation so it's NOT canon n besides, sorey never did anything for alisha that I could call romantic. It's really fanservice for alisha fans and it's not even anything beyond friends or brother/sister affection... If anything, alisha is the first human aside from him who could see seraphim, so that's their only link...

I've had this AMV on my "watch later" since it was uploaded. Kept it so I can watch it after I finished the game. That was 2016. Guess what!! I finally finished it in 2020 haha!! I love Sorey and Mikleo so much!!!!!!! They are so pure,,, Sorey and Mikleo is a pair that isn't explicitly called as canon but you can see that they are (or will be, if you see it from the game pov). I watched the whole anime yesterday and i absolutley love it. Their friendship is so beautiful and the story really had me crying. And now i totally want to play the game but we're on our way to Denmark right now and will stay two weeks, so there is no chance i can play it very soon. There's also Monogatari. It's about a demon exorcist who hates shikigami which killed his brother and sister, but his master made him live with a female shikigami caretaker so his adventures start from there. You may also want to try Kimetsu no Yaiba. Maybe you're already familiar with the anime version of it? Pretty violent in some ways like Owari, but it's a story about siblings... the boy became a demon hunter who wanted to find a cure for his sister who's almost turned into a full demon when the rest of their family was massacred by demons. It starts with violent mass murder like in Owari, and the MC's adventures begin as he trains to be a demon hunter/slayer in search of the demon who killed his family...

Yeah, I know what you mean XD I must admit, the 2nd season is killing my hopes quite a lot, and I can't actually see it ending the same way as the game any more... (don't get me wrong, I really hope it does get better, but so far, there's been a lot of things that set up the foundation for the end that they're missing out) At this point, I'm mostly watching out of a morbid fascination to see how much they can heteronormalise it and/or screw up the ending O.o that, and the amazing animation, cause say what you like, but it is pretty XD

I watched the whole anime yesterday and i absolutley love it. Their friendship is so beautiful and the story really had me crying. And now i totally want to play the game but we're on our way to Denmark right now and will stay two weeks, so there is no chance i can play it very soon. @@p1xelat3d Oh, think it's Bungou Stray Dogs... ? You can also try God of High School... they say it's got a good story, though I'm not much into high school shounen stuff. I'm more into fantasy... There's also Monogatari. It's about a demon exorcist who hates shikigami which killed his brother and sister, but his master made him live with a female shikigami caretaker so his adventures start from there.
You may also want to try Kimetsu no Yaiba. Maybe you're already familiar with the anime version of it? Pretty violent in some ways like Owari, but it's a story about siblings... the boy became a demon hunter who wanted to find a cure for his sister who's almost turned into a full demon when the rest of their family was massacred by demons. It starts with violent mass murder like in Owari, and the MC's adventures begin as he trains to be a demon hunter/slayer in search of the demon who killed his family...
