In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.
No jingle will EVER beat Romesh Ranganathan's "Tree Wizard", which still goes round and round in my head daily.
Guz gives him a good run for it though. Also, Mo that did the fish punching kids rhyme.
And even Victoria's is a solid actual TV jingle

Victoria struggling how to use the swanee whistle is amazing, if only she knew it was one of the best things to operate with your hand.
Wasn't sure what it was to start with but when Morgana played it I discovered it's something I had as a kid (a very long time ago!) but we called it a Skiffle-Whistle.

Alan may be a bit low-energy in tasks, but he's really genuine and goofy and a good sport in this one. I also laughed hard at the non-popped balloon and the sound of the stylophone :D Desiree and Guz both going spoken word was fiyah 8) Morgana classically dark/psychedelic. I thought Victoria was smiley too, maybe the tone felt off for Greg or disingenuous, but she was making a fake ad, to be fair. Love this whole cast! 💟
I have to say, this is one of my favorite task videos. The added humor between Greg and the contestants on top of the actually performances is like watching a genius comic ad-lib a masterpiece.

Desiree's & Alan's were my top favs. Victoria's tune sounded like something I'd hear in a horror movie 😣

Victoria is the embodiment of how someone can be incredibly intelligent, yet dumb as rocks at the same time. I can imagine her and David having a deep discussion about the history of medicine while they both fail to make it past the child proof lock on calpol.
You might want to look into the concept of "general intelligence or g factor".

She's one of those people who ends up stranded on the M25 because she didn't realise her car needs oil and water as well as fuel every so often, and she only knows it needs fuel because she ran out of that on the M25 once as well. She just has no interest or understanding of the physical world we interact with. I guess we're all different but it annoys the hell out of me watching it if I'm honest.
I think it's a good example of how if people keep saying how intelligent someone is everyone thinks they're super intelligent 🤣

I like Alan's the most out of this task with Victoria a close second. Harder to choose from all Taskmaster musical productions though. So many great songs and tunes including Romesh's Tree Wizard, Nish and Mark's I'm Always Seeing You Do Cool Stuff, Jessica's tune, and Fern's It's Me Fern Brady 👍
Victoria's second?? They were supposed to make a jingle. She didn't do that.
@@jonhohensee3258 Oxford Dictionary's definition of a jingle includes slogans and verses, as well as tunes. It doesn't have to include much of a melody or instrumentation to technically be a jingle.
@@jankbunky4279 Victoria's presentation doesn't fit that definition either. Plus, these days most people take "jingle" to mean something that is sung, regardless of the Oxford definition.

Besides that, she is a bit of an older woman by now, and also from a different background, and it wouldn't be odd that she *does* go by Oxford's definition or something close to it.

Furthermore, if I were to ask a hundred people what a jingle is AT LEAST 95 would say it's something that is sung.
As a musician I can't imagine how much fun I'd have if I were prompted with this outta nowhere

The more I see Victoria's lack of understanding of the physical objects that surround us the more I think she grew up either locked in a cellar or on a raft in the Atlantic. Who the hell in their 40s doesn't know how a swanee whistle works? I bet she only realised her car needs petrol when she ended up on the M25 hard shoulder.

YT have completely lost the plot on ads. 6 unskippable (4 within the first minute 😮) and two skippable in a 12 minute clip.
And they were all the same two ads repeated.
Victoria's jingle really was depressing asf even with Alan's being about laminating a will.

Yeah, I think Morgana's was a 3 pointer at most, Guz probably deserved the 5 points with Desiree if he had actually featured the laminator in his video, although it's impressive he wrote it all in one minute given he was just messing around with the drum kit for most of it

Morgana was overmarked quite often this series. Her jingle was competent but forgettable, unlike the other 3.
Seeing 3:14 makes me feel slightly sorry for David Mitchell.. haha
Easy judgement, why did Greg opt for what he did?
Gus - easy 5
Desiree - easy 4
Alan - easy 3
Morgana - 3 because the swanee whistle was a disadvantage so she deserves an extra point
Victoria - 2 because two people got 3 points, she barely deserves 1
The difference between knowing facts and being intelligent. Watching them struggle to figure out how a slide whistle works was a wonderful insight into the minds of those who are lauded for their intellect.

It’s slightly surreal for me watching this and suddenly one of the contestants is from the USA. It’s like the accent equivalent of turning on the tv and your neighbor is onscreen.
Suddenly? Desiree has lived in the UK for years and has appeared most of the other panel shows as well.

Folk moan when people don't try and don't take it seriously and yet when Victoria takes it really seriously and tries very hard she is penalised at every turn and folk think that that's fair and funny.
