- This is a video I made of the original O'Canada Movie. I used an audio track that I also personally recorded when I was alone in the Theater. Therefore, there is no crowd noise at all in this video!! Enjoy! Connect with us on your favorite networks:

• Epcot | O' Canada | Or...
Disney needs to remaster this version and start showing it again. It’s still one of the best Epcot attractions I’ve ever seen.
Which is what they should have done with Maelstrom, instead of changing it for that Frozen bravo sierra.
I still miss this version of the film, even today.
Yes, they ruined it with adding Martin Short, took away all the magic of it.
tmm226 now its all full of PC crap
Kevin - PC?
ResortTV1 this is the first time I have seen this version in YEARS. It is bringing so many great memories of my visit to Epcot. In fact the Canadian Pavilion was the first of the various pavilions I visited. What an outstanding presentation of a beautiful country
+TheCarsche I miss this film quite a bit. The musical score was my favorite part though, and I'm glad I got the chance to record it without any background noise.
My husband and I went to Epcot for our honeymoon in 1996 and this was my favorite exhibit. For the longest time my husband thought that this song was Canada's national anthem, until we actually went there! It's so beautiful, it could have been, although I'm partial to O Canada.
The cathedral scene (in Notre Dame de Montreal) is what inspired me to be a professional musician. Spectacular! Hearing it again brought me back. Thank you for posting this!
Wow! That’s so cool!
Oh I am right there with you. This is the version I saw when I first fell in love with Canada Epcot song and the nation of Canada as a whole. Thank you so much for keeping this one accessible. God Bless Canada
Amen could not said it better!!!
Thank you for posting this I WISH they left it alone instead of changing it 😔
We are so thankful for this video! This started our love of Canada and the reason why we go back to the Canadian Pavilion at Epcot every time we get a chance to visit so hopeful that sooner or later you will get a chance to come across the border and see the true beauty of Canada!
Takes me back to my first trip to Florida in 1990....great memories
I loved the old version of the film! Thank you so much for uploading this film. I have wonderful memories of this when I went to Epcot! Thank you, ResortTV1!
+Brian Grogan You're welcome! :-)
Its a shame they removed this version of the film. Epcot is supposed to be a park for adults, specifically the World Showcase. This film portrayed its nation better than any of the other films in the World Showcase in my opinion.
Oldgames1000 Except for the movie in the The France Pavilion. IMHO.
Just like they kidified Norway... horrible.
Oldgames1000 yup
sentino68 yup
Yup
10:35 love how you can see the change from winter to spring and the Beauty each town in Canada
Man, I adored this...part of my childhood and adulthood...progress does not stop🙆
My Grandfather was visiting Butchart Gardens in the 80's when they were filming the video for O'Canada. He is the older gentleman who was off to the side by himself, wearing Khaki pants. He was in his late to mid 70's. Unfortunately he isn't in this particular version of O',Canada. We saw him at Epcot both in Jan of 1994 and July of 2013. I would like to find out how I can find the video of my Grandpa. Love and miss him! ❤
Thank God for this. This was the best. The Martin Short version is...ugh.
such pleasant memories of this. thanks for uploading!
You're welcome!!
My ex girlfriend used to work there. I worked in Germany. We met while we were bunkering up for Irma in Vista... Everytime I see this I could cry. I love her so much, but we're just too far apart now that we are back in our home countries. 😭
Thank you so much for this great video. I miss the old version, especially of the song. It's one of my favorites.
+Beth Connolly You're welcome! I miss this version too!
I have watched this several times...It is fabulous and brings back great memories. Thanks!
This version of O Canada is my favorite film in Epcot Center
Daniel James same
this version is so much better
So so many memories right here!
I think the Canadian pavillion has gotten Short shrift since this version was replaced.Thank you!
SCE2AUX2 Totally agree!
Even Shorter since that version is gone too.
ISWYDT, HOSER!
My favorite thing about that pavilion is it tries harder than most of the pavilions to represent every area of the country it represents.
More like an O’Hara and Levy shrift
Great job with this video. It brought back so many good memories of the old EPCOT Center. Thanks for sharing!
You did a fantastic job on this! I love the original version. I listen to this at work and feel like I'm really there. Thank you for this video!
Checking in. I love that you have this documented.
Great Tribute to Stan Rogers singing Blue Nose
+Kevin Pippin I love that song!
And Fogarty’s Cove as well
Does anyone know what version of the song they use in the movie? It’s not the original, but I love the movie version
So glad you did this, so I was able to hear the Blue Nose song again! Thanks!
Ah my childhood ❤️ thanks Josh! 🙏🏼
I was disgusted when I saw the new Martin Short version. Actually disgusted!! In fact... there were many people around me who commented on how disappointing and stupid it was! If I were Canadian I would feel so humiliated! This original version of "O Canada" was so beautiful and dignified. It truly did bring out the beauty of Canada and of course it's people!... Several of the Canadian Epcot employees we spoke to upon leaving the theater even voiced their embarrassment of the new movie..... and how they felt it disrespected Canadians overall. Epcot Center should re-introduce this original version!!!!!!!
I miss this version too.
When you go to Epcot today you are just insulted and humiliated with all the Politically Correct Bullshit. Everything liberals touch they destroy
@@pip12111 PLEASE keep your political bullshit outta this video. And ALSO, after 2014, they initially tried to propagate your un-PC crap, like those lumberjacks.... Yeah no, no-one's gonna go for that crap. Give us back our musical performers. (They did in 2017 or thereabouts.)
I think the opening of the Mounties activating the 360 screens by going around is my favorite of any 360 circle vision. I also forgot, but love, the rodeo scene where we are part of the wagon race and the dog sleds later on.
Change is not always a good thing
But change is gooooooood! Hope and chaaaaaaaaange. You know what? You keep the hope and I'll keep the change!
Yeah not always I personally liked the original the best
Reminds me (gladly) of when I had an annual pass to the park back in '97. Good times.
11:05…. Anne Murray!!!!!!!!
OOHHH, so THIS was the original version of "My Canada". The new one's just as beautiful as the original.
I hate the new version. The original always makes me cry. I have played it and the Anthem every Canada Day.
I recently read an article that Canadians thought this was hokey and antiquated. They complained to Disney so it was changed. When I visited in 2006, I loved this film. It was my one of my most favorite attractions in Epcot. I was so disappointed when we returned and they had a new version with Martin Short. Now that was hokey. I know they updated it again. Hoping it’s an improvement.
This is the better version. The new Martin Short version is too comical and I like the more serious version.
Different generation bud. This one wants phones and entertainment apps. They don't want anything serious unless it's blood and gore. If it's a bunch of dying people it will be exciting to them.
Robert Dambeck yup
Kyle Hill yup
I agree....I like the original attitude of most of the original epcot attractions. If course they would have to be updated through the years but they could keep the original feel.
I loved this film and that song at the end when I was a kid. It's a shame they removed it.
Beautiful.
I looked and couldn't see it here, but my family says my great aunt was shown hanging clothes at some point in this video. Maybe I didn't look hard enough because they didn't really mention Manitoba at all. Thanks for posting the original video!!
Thanks for posting!
This is THE version. The new version that I heard for the first time in 2012 is awful. Bring back THIS version, Disney. It's the best.
Phillip Graham Totally agree!
Phillip Graham I completely agree. I shot this movie and recorded the crowd-free audio when I realized that they were changing this movie. I wanted to be sure to at least have a good recording of it.
Thank you for recording this! It is one of my favorite attractions in Epcot.
Phillip Graham You're very welcome! My friend and I had to get special permission from the cast members to record the audio before the park opened so that there was no crowd noise. Then I went back to record the video later.
Have you shot Impressions de France as well? I love it even more than the Canadian film.
Wonderful, thank you!
4:23 i totally visited the Notre Dame Basilica after watching this version. Montreal is awesome
thank you I missed this version so much....gb.
I worked Disney Epcot Security from the end of 1982 to 1984...Good memories from long ago, now.
I agree. But I'd leave it to Disney to do alittle technical magic to make it fit our TV sets. I just don't like the Martin short version.
I like version of "O Canada" better than the newer version. It shows more, and is more detailed.I wonder if Disney put the older version on dvd, and is selling it?
Makes me homesick for a place I've never been
This video is from when something didn't have to be sarcastic or ironic to be popular.
I remember some scenes which are not in this video, and I haven't been to Epcot in the 21st century at all, so they're not from the new version. After poking around a bit, I think maybe I saw the Expo 86 "Portraits of Canada" Circlevision film by Disney, which also played for a while at Epcot apparently. If anyone knows how to get a copy of that film, I'd be deeply appreciative!
+Solomon Foster I think I have either seen or at least heard of that before. I'll check.
Thanks!
@@ResortTV1 found it?
I once saw "America the Beautiful" on the Disney Channel. I had seen the original CircleVision film at Disneyland before it closed in 97(?). When it played on the disney channel, they pretty much used the "main" screen for TV (the screen where the title appeared). The funny thing is, most of the film is about the natural beauty of Canada. Much of it remains. I'm not entirely sure why they chose to get rid of mud of the original.
Anne Murray @ 11:04
Good to put the movie to a song I’ve heard before
IanBHere beautiful song! Now it just needs to return
It's a very pretty video, but it feels like it's Canada through an American's eyes. (Look! The RCMP! Look! Snow! Oooh, Canada has CITIES!)
I am hopefully going to Canada next summer.
Sounds like fun!
ResortTV1 I’m going to possibly Toronto. My favorite place is the Toronto Zoo.
Zoos & Aquariums fan 1997 Montreal is beautiful
I’ve been to Quebec
10:38 Which city is that?
That's a good question. I'm not sure. Sorry!
Ottawa (Rideau Canal)
Love it. When was this recorded?
1982. I worked Epcot Security during that time…Good memories from long ago, now…
1981 or 1979 not sure
Or if you’re talking about this YT video I think 2007 but not sure
Watching this movie and having dinner in Le Cellier, with the woman that has been your wife for less than a fortnight. A great start in life.
unfortunately that will likely never happen, as it would be damn near impossible to fit an image this wide on our TV's without it looking ridiculous :(
Look, to the people screaming "ERR PC CRAP" and "ERR HATE LIBERALS" -- *_Keep that crap out of this comment section!_* We're not here to discuss politics. We're here to discuss the infinitely _better_ version of _O Canada_ from 1982; keep your politics outta this comments section.
I wonder if epcot failed for the vast majority of it's target goal to increase tourism. Personally it really grew my desire to explore the real places.
How old is that original version of O Canada?
at the time of the changeover to the new version in 2007 this one (the old one was almost 25 years old
Andrew Schiavone it was recorded in 1979
1982 - 2007
I'm not a huge fan of the Martin Short one, but I can see why this was replaced. It's a bit dated; at a minimum, they could have preserved more of the footage.
+David Baird It was dated, but the musical score is so beautiful. Wish they could have saved some of the score.
ResortTV1 yes
@@ResortTV1 Yep love it

shown in bell telephone pavillion.

This film does a great job showing what makes canada unique, but it does fail to show indigenous culture and to show the average experience. Like if an American show was all Fourth of July fireworks, Halloween costumes and military parades. Beautiful music though.
I live in Canada and I think the new one is a 100 times better then this version!!!
Well, you can think whatever you want, but you're wrong.
no your wrong
Phillip Graham yes
Why? "People from around the world have settled in our land. For their heritage and Canada they stand--side by side and hand in hand." That's beautiful. Or are you into hating everyone who is different? People have become so mean and hateful these days.
@@robinlillian9471 The last year has shown me that the Canadian government hates anyone who is different. Yes, I'm Canadian.
