thank you so much for these. it's near impossible to find short explanatory videos related to our field, and if you skip a lesson you're basically lost, so yours are a Godsend!! pls keep making more, they're beneficial. God bless you.

This was so inspiring to see. I've volunteered at several locations, SNF, inpatient & ped outpatient & had no idea this was even possible in OT. I have been nervous deciding if I want to go into this because I've noticed & have heard a lot of discouraging things from OT's personally, like how they were mad they went thru so much schooling just to help someone go to bathroom.
I don't mind doing that, or getting my hands dirty, however I just don't want that & helping to teach pts to dress, bathe & toilet to be my whole job.
Thank you for showing me other angles of OT

I am so happy that this was helpful! I love your willingness to serve others. I think being willing to get your "hands dirty" is a great starting point because that shows a desire to help others even when it isn't always comfortable for us:).
What I love about OT is that it contributes a creative/practical perspective to healthcare that is unique and at the same time very broad because all of life is filled with occupations (important activities that occupy our time). Therefore OT leaves a lot of room for a practitioners to expand their own skills to help people in an variety of ways. Also if you get bored of working in a setting where dressing/bathing/grooming is the focus you can change to other settings or populations.
Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts!
