- Pattaya Community Pride 2024 is a significant celebration to promote LGBTQIA+ rights, diversity, and equality. This event is part of the broader Pride Month festivities, embraced by many cities in Thailand, including Chiang Mai and Bangkok. The highlight of the Pattaya Pride is the grand parade scheduled for June 8, 2024, at Jomtien Beach.
The Pattaya City Administration organizes the event in collaboration with the SWING Foundation. This year's theme, "Pattaya Community Pride 2024," aims to enhance the city's image, boost tourism, and advocate for human rights. The parade will feature vibrant carnival-style decorations, performances, and activities from various participating organizations. Three main stages will be set up at Dongtan Curve, Soi Jomtien Complex, and in front of Soda Massage, where different shows and performances will take place.
The parade will commence at 4:00 PM from the Colosseum Theater on Thep Prasit Road and will proceed towards Dongtan Curve for the official opening ceremony. Traffic restrictions will be in place to ensure a smooth procession, with the left lane facing the Colosseum closed and the right lane open to regular traffic. The event invites businesses, government agencies, residents, and tourists to participate, showcasing their support for LGBTQ+ rights and celebrating Thailand's progress towards equal marriage legislation.
In addition to the parade, the Pattaya International Pride Festival 2024 is set to take place on June 22 at Pattaya Beach. Organized by Pattaya City in collaboration with Central Pattana Public Company Limited and Central Pattaya Shopping Center, this festival will feature fashion shows, performances by international DJs, and concerts by popular artists. A notable highlight will be the representation of four equality couples sharing their experiences, celebrating the recent parliamentary approval of the Marriage Equality Bill in Thailand.
Pride Month in Pattaya is marked by vibrant rainbow decorations throughout the city, creating an inclusive and festive atmosphere that celebrates and promotes awareness of equality and diversity.
