Colt Python 2020 - Back From the Factory - First Look If They Fixed the Problem

- 2020 Colt Python - I take a look for the first time after receiving back from the factory for crown repairs. Sorry for the out of frame moments, but I try and get a better look at the repair work.
I have purchased the 3" & 4.25" Pythons recently! I am looking for the 6" Python to complete the set! I haven't fired mine yet but pretty soon I will. Thanks for posting on the repair process! Even though there are no visible issues who knows once I try them out!
My Python was returned 4 weeks after sending it back because of the cylinder latch. Everything works fine now.
Mine had light primer strikes and the trigger locked up once on it. So far it's been just shy of 2 months and no word from Colt.
Were they not putting some sort of roll mark on the crane to show the upgraded parts?
This one does have new marks on the frame under the crane. Not really a roll mark, just a couple small marks from a punch.
6 weeks isn’t that bad . It would’ve been more with some other companies

I'm surprised there isn't a note stating what exactly was done. Like he said, should be upgraded while they had it.
A good way to check if it's re-barreled is if the barrel/cylinder gap changed. Chances are the gap will be a little different if it was swapped.
Did you fire the weapon? Did it run ok. No misfires or hang ups?
Colt is back on my Santa Wish list.

I would say they just repaired the crown. The "creep" you speak of will go away very quickly. The mainspring simply needs to be "adjusted" for things to work correctly. Loctite on the screws is all that's needed. BLUE Loctite.
If you weigh the trigger let us know how much heavier it is after the new spring

Really disappointed in Colt QC and follow up. They should have sent detailed work order explaining what work was done to it. I have a Cobra on order and hope I don’t have similar problems.
How much did you pay for it
For the amount of money you pay for a Python, they should operate flawlessly and as smooth as glass just like the originals. The original Pythons were custom grade revolvers straight from the factory. Why redesign the originals? The Peacemakers are basically made the same as in the 1800"s, other than the cylinder pin release button that wasn't used on the first generation black powder frames. The 1911's haven't really changed much either. It seems to me that these gun companies are always trying to reinvent a trusted design. Smith and Wesson had it perfected with their pinned barrels and recessed chambers years ago. I wouldn't buy a S & W now, especially with the ugly "Hillary Hole" key lock. Buy a Ruger, they're beefy and ugly but they work.

You want companies to stop making junk refuse to buy it till they can deliver a quality products.
you would think they would of wiped it over.
