As a Sustainability Master’s student, I think your approach is really constructive: positive reinforcement works much much better than shaming!💪🏻 The narrative around sustainability is all about being “better people”, which is on one end true, but it’s tricky when it gets turned upside down implying that those who are not 100% sustainable (which, spoiler alert, 99.9% of us are not) are therefore to be shamed and judged and “worst people” Let’s keep the positive vibes (and convo) going strong😁💪🏻👏🏻💃🏻
“If everyone on earth consumed like the AVERAGE European we will need 3 planets to sustain” - we are all guilty, shaming though is of course counter productive. The problem is fashion is at odds with sustainability as it encourages consumerism. I think we should all be trying to do a lot more, not just a ‘little bit’... but thanks to Victoria for drawing attention to this. Better than all the other influencers who don’t even care. I’m just not too convinced though there such a thing as sustainable fashion. Maybe sustainable clothing, if you see my point.
So glad you were so honest towards the end about how you are trying to do your bit. I love fashion and style but at the moment I can't afford to buy clothes made from more sustainable materials, so I'm doing other things to have less impact like carrying a re-useable bag, not using coffee pods, having a water bottle instead of buying plastic, buying clothes with more than just a season's trends in mind! I completely relate and feel like some times people are really negative even when big changes are made in other areas... I love that you're speaking about it more and making it a part of your content, it's clear to see it's something you're passionate about!
I absolutely agree with you on the sustainability chat at the end, but I would like to challenge you, and every influencer out there, to put pressure on the companies. They don’t need to invite you to Maldives to show you a new mascara or Bora Bora for a palette. I think both consumers and influencers have a job to do here.
Such a good point about sustainability, I feel like some people are incredibly preachy and some just say well I can’t do this so I’ll not bother! Surely every little bit helps and this year I too am making a conscious effort to do even more than last year like buying fancy soap dispensers & getting them refilled at a local zero waste shop instead of buying single use hand soap all the time. We still have our Nespresso machine but have been recycling the pods for the last 7-8 months. Loving the content as always!
I can 100% relate to your comments about the vilification. I also try my best to be more sustainable. I don’t own a car, I use reusable shopping bags, produce bags, coffee cups, water bottles... I recycle including special soft plastic recycling. I’m also vegan. And people still like to point out the parts of my life that aren’t sustainable (I also fly a lot for work). It’s as if they think they are being more ‘consistent’ by not bothering to do anything to be more sustainable at all. It’s seriously grinds my gears! We all need to try our best. Thank you so much for doing your bit and using your platform. It’s clear you genuinely care and your reach will help to educate others 🙏🏽 xxx
Oh babe I'm so sorry - you are doing so much it's absolutely amazing! This reminds me of a message someone sent me this week that really resonated with me! They said I hope I'm not failing at being sustainable because of a certain item of clothing they'd worn and it made me feel so sad that people had instilled in her it was a black or white thing. It just isn't it's lifestyle changes, it's doing less of certain things and more of others and spreading the message about :) xx
Inthefrow yes totally agree. We all just have to do our best and educate ourselves continually. It’s the guilt that comes with it that can be difficult!
Being vegan and recycling, while flying a lot for work, seems really pointless. You still pollute more than you help. If you really wanted to be sustainable, you'd quit your job, and sit somewhere, trying not to do any activities or breathe lol.
It’s good to know that there are multiple ways to be sustainable. I never thought of giving items to friends/family as sustainable. There’s a local high school here with a lot of below poverty students and they started a clothing pantry for students to visit in privacy during lunch, so I also donate to there. My volunteer organization runs a charity shop but the money we make from it goes right back into community projects. Thanks for sharing information we can use to be better.
OMG I had to LOL when you were "accusing" Alex of coming in while you were changing but he was only trying to bring you a WAFFLE! CLASSIC. Love you Victoria!!!
P.s completely agree with you when you were talking about sustainability !! Its really not an all or nothing kind of thing. Every little helps and we should all be mindful and more conscious about the decisions we make daily.
YES! This! Such an important conversation. My boyfriend is a pilot and a vegetarian and people always say stuff in comments like 'how can he want to help the world in one way and not in all ways?" and it makes me want to SCREAM sometimes hahaha x
Really random but you didn’t mention them so I thought I’d say, I’ve started using beeswax sheets instead of tin foil and cling film! They are reusable and when they come to the end of their life (about a year if you take care of them) they are completely composable too. And they come in loads of pretty patterns. 🤗
Victoria, I think it’s really good that you encourage people to make more sustainable choices. And I agree that it is difficult to be 100% sustainable, because in the modern world we often need to travel, drive, etc. Often if you want certain foods, it is nearly impossible to find them not packed in plastic unless there are lots of organic stores around you. But I agree that if we make small changes at a time, that will have a great positive impact! I’ve been vegan for almost 2 years now and I try to use sustainable shopping bags, save electricity, don’t waste water, etc. I don’t buy fur or leather clothing, but unfortunately there are not that many well-designed faux-leather bags for example, so I buy a leather bag once in 2 years. Could I be more sustainable? Of course, but it doesn’t mean it diminishes what I am already doing...
Hi Elena, I just want to point out that although you may have a problem with leather because you are vegan; in fact real leather is more sustainable than faux leather because faux leather is essentially plastic. I think a lot of people confuse sustainability with ethical or cruelty free products...
Wanted to comment (which I rarely do) after your chat on sustainability. You are someone I massively look up, for so many different reasons and watching your videos brings me so much joy. You’re the perfect example to me, as an 18 year old girl, that a woman who is intelligent, well-educated and well-informed can also love fashion and appreciate it as an art without being “shallow” or “supporting consumerism”. Watching your videos shows me that I too, can be a leader and can run my own life while also being extremely kind and caring to everyone around me. Currently, I’m struggling to stop buying fast fashion as it is all that I can afford but I’m making a conscious effort to sell on what I can and not buy quite so much. I try to shop vintage when I can but it’s not really an option where I live. But I’m making a conscious effort to buy less plastics, to recycle and encourage others to do the same and to do everything I can to live a more sustainable life and I can honestly say that you are a huge influence on that. So thank you so much for being the role model that I have been trying for so long to find. Please never forget that you are that person to so many people when others try to put you down.
I absolutely adore you sweet and genuine spirit. I think it’s lovely that you’re constantly thinking of different ways to do your part to be sustainable. It’s so easy to ignore or forget that problems exist because we get so busy just taking care of life on a day to day basis. But there is so much more happening around us and around our world than we could believe. Thank you for bringing this up and standing up for yourself-you really inspire all of us to do the same. Xx
Victoria, you are such an inspiration!! The way I see it is that all of us just by the nature of being alive are going to use resources, produce carbon, etc. How I approach the idea of sustainability in my own life is to see how many things I can do to offset or mitigate the things that I do or consume that are not so sustainable. Maybe I purchase too much clothing (working on that), but I eat plant-based, don’t own a car, cook all my meals at home, etc. Totally agree with you that it is certainly not an all or nothing thing, and that every little bit we can do helps. And it is also definitely not a competition!
Don't watch the haters. You are doing great by spreading the message. We aren't perfect and as you said, trying is important. Every little progress is progress and eventually we'll all get there if we keep at it :)
Completely agree with you about this "all or nothing" mindset that people seem to have about being sustainable. This mindset is also very common with people who are trying to eat more vegan. People will say, unless you are completely cutting out every ounce of animal product in your life, don't even bother calling yourself a vegan. For instance, I saw a youtuber who said she is cruelty free and tries to buy only cruelty free products. Someone in the comments said, "well, your perfume isn't cruelty free and this isn't cruetly free so neither are you." It just drives me mad. I commend anyone who is trying to better themselves or trying to do more for our planet. You don't have to be perfect. It's just about trying harder and doing a bit more.
I love your honesty, and that you are trying to be more sustainable, it’s enviable....sad truth is even if you were 100% sustainable in every aspect of your life, you would still have some sad little person out there who will put you down, your success is a threat to some and you have to pity them.....well done Victoria, you are a role model to many and a success in your own right, much love 💕🏴
Your comments on being more sustainable was perfect. If everyone just tried and did at least one more thing to be mindful it could help make a difference and I look up for you for shining a light on such an important issue when in reality you could have chosen not to!
I really felt for you when you spoke about people constantly criticising about how “you’re not sustainable” when you’re trying. And educating! There are a LOT of angry little people on the internet. You’re great and your channel is fantastic.
All we can do is try and be better each day. My mum used to buy water bottles to keep in the fridge, and I asked her to get a reusable one, which she did! Yes she still buys bottles of say Diet Coke but that change of buying water bottles in bulk to a reusable one is amazing and I was really proud. You never know how many people who watch these videos will make one change! So keep spreading the message :) xx
My favourite part of this video? You talking about being as sustainable as possible. I sometimes forget that there are people out there who don’t care. If everyone did one thing extra to save the planet, it would make a huge impact. I love your passion for the cause and you are an amazing voice for our planet. Love you xx
I'm so glad you spoke on this. I think it's great that you are making sustainable changes! You're right in saying we can all do our bit. Some can do more than others, and as a student I know the feeling of wanting to be sustainable but not always having the financial resources to make the changes I would ideally like to make BUT I do what I can. I can see why people might have something to say about the travelling, as it does have a big impact on your carbon footprint, but human beings travel! it's what we do! And I guarantee the people getting mad about it do their own fair share of travelling. As long as you are doing your best to make up for it I think you deserve a huge amount of respect! Sustainability is one of those things that people are constantly trying to understand and find new ways to be part of the revolution, and you're honesty about it is amazing. We love ya also you look fab at fashion week!! x
I loved the glimpse into fashion week and all your outfits were incredible. As for the issue of sustainability, I totally agree that encouraging people to make whatever small changes they can is a great way to approach it. The idea that we should be "all or nothing" is just so ridiculous and the quickest way to turn anyone off trying at all! x
Vic, you are absolutely incredible. I am so proud of you for supporting the sustainable brands and fashion. Please don’t let these hate comments and negativity bother you, just know that you are an absolute idol and inspiration for so many people out there including me. Also, did I mention that you looked absolutely gorgeous in all the outfits? Because you certainly did. And can’t wait for more wedding related content. You and Alex are just absolute goals!
You are a doll Victoria. Loved seeing all of the things you wore during fashion week. Your conversation about living a sustainable life was great. Do you what you can. It's not easy, but if you take small steps they all count. TFS.
Agreed. I really appreciate you promoting sustainable fashion to the masses. I agree that even small acts go a long way. I worked high up in aviation for ten years and was told the same thing; “so you’re a vegan, but you help pump our environment with thousands of pounds of toxins every year”. “You’re a strict vegan and activist but you own a vintage LV bag and coat”, well they were my grandmothers so... It’s a lot of negativity that really doesn’t be said, because every effort counts at the end of the day.
I remember you doing the Britta challenge concerning single use plastics, and you've consistently developed awareness and a positive discourse regarding sustainability, and I love how you use your platform to open the discussion in a positive way. Literally no one is perfect, and asking for that is basically asking someone not to exist; by mere existence we are already unsustainable. That's just one thought too many. Progress might be slow and frustrating to some (or many even) but I'm so so glad that there are people like you who address the topic of sustainability within the fashion -and hopefully in the future also beauty/skincare industry. So, thank you :D
i have been plant-based for 10+ years and it's so frustrating for me to hear people in the vegan people attack people when they are trying to be better. There are areas in my life where I am not "a hundred percent sustainable" we are all trying our best to take care of the planet. i think you are doing an amazing job victoria about using your platform to spread a positive message and encouraging everyone to be one step better every day. ❤️
I completely agree with you about sustainability - if everyone tries to do something it will make a difference. You can’t change how the world works, fashion week won’t suddenly end because one person chooses not to be involved! It’s better to be part of it and try to change it for the better.
Being 100% sustainable is pretty much impossible and especially for a TH-camr. I think it's great the TH-camr community is starting to try making more of a sustainable effort, but for a lot of them I feel like they're throwing around the word "sustainable" as sort of a trend instead of actually doing the work (not you). And one of the most common mistakes I've seen is TH-camrs replacing items they have for a similar sustainable item, which isn't sustainable because your unnecessarily buying something you already have. For example your new Stella McCartney coat. An amazing brand/person. But I also recall at least 3 camel coats already in your wardrobe including a designer on you got last winter, which you claimed was your perfect camel coat for all time. So the sustainable thing to do would have been wearing that coat again now instead of a new coat. I think a great lesson TH-camrs need to learn is the fact that you buy an sustainable item doesn't make the act of buying it sustainable. And I don't mean any of this as a something negative against you or that you should feel bad about the coat or anything. But I think this is where a lot of people were coming from. Although I don't condone the rude/vicious way in which they comment from a place of negativity instead of constructive criticism and helpful advice. Anyhow I'm glad you enjoyed fashion week
You've been a real inspiration and motivation to become more sustainable! I've been able to do 3 days a week all vegan! I'm very conscientious of the lights and making sure they are turned off when not in use. Bamboo toothbrushes, bamboo utensils, NO plastic! Reusable water bottles, reusable coffee mugs for on the go! Trying to replace what I can in my wardrobe that is sustainable that's taking a bit more time. Anyway each day I look for ways to make changes and I feel so good when I make them! Thank you so much love you've been awesome and I think you're amazing! This video has been amazing! Loved it so much and you looked beautiful!!! Take care and much love to you 💚💚
I’ve been trying my best! I’m good at recycling and reusable water bottles etc and coffee things. We have been cutting down our meat intake etc at home x
Others’ negativity is theirs to own. I am so glad you are distancing yourself from it. I came across another channel who was commenting on your book and how commendable it is that you share your wisdom to help others. And by the way...I totally remembered how gutted you were last year around this time. Glad you cut back this year. Growth all around Luv! That’s how we become our best selves, but you already know that. You got this. ❤️
You’re doing more than a lot of people to address sustainability, and as you said if you inspire at least 1 person that’s one more than before. Keep doing what you’re doing Vic! Absolutely love your content and who you are 💓
I agree! We can’t be perfect, but we can try, and prioritise the things we think are possible in our lives, while being kind to ourselves and each other about what we cannot do.
Hi Victoria. I just wanted to say thanks for the messages you’re trying to spread about sustainability. They are really inspirational and have made me think a lot. I recently did a wardrobe clear out and am going to give my stuff to my cousin now instead of the usual charity shop trip! I have also just bought a Keep Cup and am off down to the coffee shop to use it today! Hope you and Alex and doing well. I got married myself last year and I hope it brings you all the happiness it has brought me ❤️ I love watching your videos, I’ve been following you since blog days and I think you are one of the most, real and unpretentious TH-camrs out there! I’m an interior designer myself and have to say your home is great. Looking forward to seeing what you do with your new house too! 🌈 Keep up the good work Victoria and hope you stay as inspirational, stylish and authentic always, lots of love, Emer xxx
Encouragement to be sustainable is great, we can all do our 'bit', and together that makes a 'big' difference, but when you dash from a sustainable me event straight into an OTT Bently, one of the worst cars for the environment, which is designed for sheer excess and unnecessary extras, then dont be surprised when people feel theres a vibe of hypocrisy.
Like I said - not every area of my life can be sustainable unfortunately BUT trying in other ways as I point out. Unfortunately I need help getting round LFW so Bentley we’re very happy to help. And honestly, would you or anyone turn that down. I adore the brand and it was a very kind offer so I didn’t turn it down. But in other areas of my life I’m making changes and that’s a hell of a lot more that the majority of people on this planet 🌍❤️
This might be my favourite of yours ever. It is so refreshing to hear someone with your platform using it to make positive changes for the planet! Keep it up girl!
So, not trying to hate here--just honestly curious. How do you feel about moving in a more sustainable direction when a lot of luxury companies don't create sustainably/ethically? I think it's interesting because fast fashion bears a lot of the brunt for the current state of the environment (rightfully) but also brands like Prada, Dior and Fendi score lowest on transparency indexes in both 2018 and 2016 (according to Fashion Revolution's The Index and Know the Chain respectively). For me it was disheartening because I realized no matter how much I paid for an item, it's not possible to shop in most mainstream markets without supporting something that didn't fit my values. Would love to hear your thoughts!
Im curious about this too and definitely want to find out more in terms of how certain luxury brands make their products. I think itll be a long time until they are more sustainable, yet, a person who buys more from these brands, will buy less and less throw away fashion and most likely keep their Dior top or Fendi boots for years and years longer than they would ever keep a primark tshirt. So in effect, their lifestyle is far more sustainable than someone who shops at primark each week and throws away. Is difficult to know whats best really xx
@@VictoriaMagrath I agree, a buy better buy less (or wear more) attitude is much better for the environment over all. If more people adopted this I think we would do much better with waste management of clothing and looking at our pieces as art or investments. The other good thing is resale value of designer pieces--which encourages a more circular economy than fast fashion. Loved hearing your thoughts and can't wait for more sustainable fashion videos!
So few people in your position would do as much as you do to be a conscious human being... that being said, I think conscious consumerism is only part of the solution, and what I like most is how you shine a positive light on industry players who ARE trying to make a difference, because the balance of power is mostly in THEIR hands! We can only expect so much from personal choices, and while I wouldn't discourage anyone from doing their best to consume in a sustainable way, until the industries PRODUCE in a sustainable way, we'll never really get there. Lots of people can't afford to choose wisely, because they don't have time to research properly, or because the price of more sustainable options is sometimes a little out there, and let's not even mention the billions that are going in marketing to influence us to make unsustainable choices...! Basically, rational choice theory is great until you realize that every choice you make is somewhat determined by your social environment! Sorry for the sociology bit here, basically all I'm saying is I'm glad you're NOT just playing virtuous consumer, and are ALSO collaborating with industry players to make fashion as a whole more sustainable, and I love you all the more for it. ;) That might be wishful thinking, but SMART WOMEN WILL SAVE THE WORLD. haha! xxx
Yes yes yes totally right and I honestly feel more and more brands are going to take action, or be fined soon. Fast fashion cannot continue and is hugely at fault here. I feel change is coming :) cx
So agree with you on the rant. It is not about being perfect, but to be better about it 🙌🏻 Of course being 100% sustainable is the best for the planet, but a little is better than nothing. Loving these outfits by the way,and the shots are incredible 🙈 Proud of you also for not trying to fit all the shows in your schedual. You seemed really stressed last year, and definitely more calm this year ☺️
I cannot tell you how much I appreciate your movement regarding sustainable fashion! It’s refreshing responsible and highly admirable. I’m excited for your future fashion videos that will incorporate these fashion combined with your elegant and edgy style! Sending good vibes from NYC!
Yes! I love your rant I think this all or nothing approach really puts people off even trying to do better. I’m all about positive reinforcement and I love the fact your using your channel to share what your learning about sustainability 💕
Thankyou so much - this is so what I thought too. The more people see this negativity they’ll be put off even trying! Why not encourage others and be like good on you for trying to do better! Xx
I think it's bloody awesome your using your platform as a opportunity to inspire sustainable change! Once you u start it's amazing what you find out, I keep finding more and more ways I can reduce and recycle now. It's actually almost fun a challenge to myself to see how little waste , power, etc I can reduce, keep up the good work! 💕
Love what you had to say about the sustainability subject. SOMETHING is always better than nothing. Really appreciate you standing up for that, Victoria! Xx
Your vlogs always puts me in the best mood. I appreciate your honesty, I completely agree with you when you were talking about sustainability. Its really not an all or nothing kind of thing.
Victoria I love how you articulated your view on sustainability and unfortunately many won't get it or would still choose to knit pick. You have made me so much more aware of how my choices affect the environment. I no longer use plastic straws or buy plastic utensils and make an effort to re-use every item I can before I dispose or recycle. Thank you for your attention to this very important issue. Please know that you are making an incredible impact on your platform !!! PS every outfit was stunning, but when are they not stunning eh??..xoxoxo
Oh babe this is so wonderful to hare and it's those changes that over time make the difference and lessen the demand for things like single use plastics! No one is perfect but the small steps from lots of people make the bigger changes :) xx
You looked beautiful in all your outfits Vic! And I think it’s wonderful that you are making such an effort towards sustainability. We all need to still be able to live our lives and enjoy it doing, getting and having the things we love along the way but it’s just nice to be mindful about how we go about those things whilst doing so because nobody is perfect!
Thank you so much for doing your part and inspiring/educating! That is fabulous to see! I love everything you are doing. Also, those VB white pumps are so fab :)
I absolutely agree with you here. I also really think that it´s not about doing everything or nothing, but rather try to improve constantly and make small changes in your life. If EVERYONE would just do their bit at a time, our world would look quite different!:)
Victoria! Thank you so much for sharing sustainable content which helps the environment, you're teaching us so many great things and I think you are doing the best you can. Also, thank you so much for showing your LFW, specially the Victoria Beckham parts, she's one of my fave designers🥰. I hope you're having a good time in Rome guys, sending you loads of love ❤️❤️
I stopped using my Nespresso SO MUCH...I've opted for my Moka Pot - but I use the Nespresso when I'm running out the door at 3 am to catch a flight. I do actually recycle those pods too. I cannot wait (!!!!!!) to watch your moving and house vlogs!!! :) xoxo
Kudos Victoria on your comments on how important the small steps towards sustainability are. So well said and fair play to you on ignoring the negative comments. Every bit helps.
To be honest, every change starts with yourself first even of its a small change and then it radiates and inspires others and it's so great to see people thinking more about our planet (it's our home) and doing their bit. Yes, no one can be 100% sustainable because that's not possible not in the world we are living in today with our lifestyle. But even a small change can make a huge difference in our ecosystem which make a great change in our climate. So kudos for sharing that on your channel and hopefully more people will try to be sustainable. And, ignore the negativity because we need positivity but thanks for addressing this issue because a lot of people do have the negative and dragging down opinion in this world which is sad really. Because, they are probably not doing anything at all but dragging other people for trying. If only people would stop hating, being jealous, angry and negative/pessimistic at someone, the world would be a whole better place. Sending viral hugs and kisses 😙❤😊
You've inspired me massively in regards to trying to make more sustainable choices and I love how you are using your platform to spread such as amazing message! :)
Loved the way you talked about positivity and sustainability, it's all about supporting each other supporting the planet and trying to make a change. Whether that's big or small. And you are sharing so much and doing your bit to enlighten us with what you learn and inspire us, so thank you! Ps. Loved your outfits for LFW, what's you favourite trend coming out of the shows so far?
BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE; set the example and some will see and follow suit and behave better. One person can't change the world and every legislation in place worldwide, but one person does still make ripples in the water that have a wide reach as their behaviours catch on via people they know. You are always enough as you are, Miss Magrath xxxx
You ARE A GOOD/GREAT PERSON! Who cares what the negative people say. Brush it off girl! FYI, the plane was already going there, why not jump on it. I think that is sustainable!
I'd love to see a video post fashion week like a roundup. What you saw from each collection and what the trends for the upcoming season are! I think it's be super interesting :)
Totally agree with everything you have just said sweetie, you can be proud of what you are doing to help our planet. Don't let those who are ignornant about our planet get to you. Keep up the good work. I'm doing my bit and if everyone did a tiny something then maybe our planet will survive for longer. 💕💕
Cheers to u babe! Thanks for inspiring and I am definitely 100% supporting you! Just don't mind what other people are saying, you just do ur thing, cause u r killing it!😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😊
Well said. I have started doing my bit. I don't throw old clothes away I chop them up and use them for dusters and cleaning cloths. I cut old 5 and 8 litre water bottles to make plant pots. I'm trying just like you. Surely if we all did our bit it should make a difference. 😘
That Roland Mouret dress! Stunning! I was equally stunned by the price tag - won't be joining my wardrobe I'm afraid, but you looked stunning in it. I see you work very hard, but gosh the spoils; chauffeured Bentleys and fancy frocks - enjoy!
Hey Sweetie, sorry I missed this one when it was first uploaded, but since I looked through the comments and most were balanced and encouraging all I will add is... as you know better, do better is a good motto to live by and let's leave the judgment at the door. I am glad these subject are being addressed and as viewers let us not forget our sphere of influence and support and encourage each other.
The Roland Mouret is absolutely stunning 😍😍😍 . We could all do with a reminder to be more mindful about sustainability, I'm glad that you are consistently using your platform to spread the word 💚 xx
I love the fact that you’re talking about being more sustainable, its super important and it’s amazing that you’re doing your part! Would you be willing to address fast fashion and the human rights violations that go along with it? Its less about sustainability but its still super important! The true cost is a great documentary to watch for more info :)
Victoria those outfits are gorgeous! Alex looked so handsome for the V.B. party. I have loved watching you and Alex grow. You both have grown up on TH-cam😁😁😁..... AND the little bit that we do for our planet makes a difference. We can't all be PERFECT, but we can only try to do our best 😄. This video has inspired me today, so thank you very much. Lisa x
Well said Victoria it’s what each person can do and not how much. I love to use straws when have soft drinks/soda so I bought stainless steel straws so it’s the little things we do makes a big difference👍🏽👍🏽😍 Thanks for sharing.
Looking lovely as usual. Totally agree about at least doing a little something to help our environment is better than doing nothing. Each little action we do can have a big impact if everyone does their part. Keep it up! 😘
Victoria! Great video, as always :* Have you considered doing a video on "vestiaire collective" or any similar website? I thought it would be a great fit for your channel right now, since they carry mainly high-end and luxury fashion, but also everything is sustainable since it is a second-hand website. Maybe you could do a haul, or a challenge where you try to make 3 outfits exclusively from those items OR find items that fit current trends/fashion.
You looked amazing in that VB dress. Putting it on my “maybe one day” list. Love that you are spreading the message of sustainability. We should support each other for trying!
As a Sustainability Master’s student, I think your approach is really constructive: positive reinforcement works much much better than shaming!💪🏻
The narrative around sustainability is all about being “better people”, which is on one end true, but it’s tricky when it gets turned upside down implying that those who are not 100% sustainable (which, spoiler alert, 99.9% of us are not) are therefore to be shamed and judged and “worst people”
Let’s keep the positive vibes (and convo) going strong😁💪🏻👏🏻💃🏻
I really want to learn so much about sustainability.
awesome comment 👍
Babe this comment! I hope you don't mind that I've pinned this but I LOVE it! Being better people! xxxxx
Inthefrow of course not, glad you liked it💪🏻💃🏻
“If everyone on earth consumed like the AVERAGE European we will need 3 planets to sustain” - we are all guilty, shaming though is of course counter productive.
Yes I love this lovely, such positive changes to improve your lifestyle and its those changes that make a difference too! xx
Absolutely agree, it just doesn't have to be all or nothing. If lots of us do 1,2,3 things it would make a huge different
Yes babe love this!!
YES!
Where are they available?
I got mine off Etsy.
The motherofpearl dress, the VB look with those insane boots and the last look from Christopher Kane with the dior bag& strap 😍😍😍😍
Don't watch the haters. You are doing great by spreading the message. We aren't perfect and as you said, trying is important. Every little progress is progress and eventually we'll all get there if we keep at it :)
Exactly lovely, none of us are perfect but we can certainly try to be better :) xx
Mary Norton i love this comment THANKYOU lovely xx
All we can do is try and be better each day. My mum used to buy water bottles to keep in the fridge, and I asked her to get a reusable one, which she did! Yes she still buys bottles of say Diet Coke but that change of buying water bottles in bulk to a reusable one is amazing and I was really proud. You never know how many people who watch these videos will make one change! So keep spreading the message :) xx
Love the way you're addressing sustainability Victoria x
My favourite part of this video? You talking about being as sustainable as possible. I sometimes forget that there are people out there who don’t care. If everyone did one thing extra to save the planet, it would make a huge impact. I love your passion for the cause and you are an amazing voice for our planet. Love you xx
You're so lovely babe and so true as well! Like the quote I put below :) xx
We love ya also you look fab at fashion week!! x
That pink Mother of Pearl dress makes me think of the prom dress that Andie made in Pretty in Pink.
pennypixie yes! That’s exactly it! I was thinking it was something Mrs. Roper might wear from Three’s Company!
@@melissadacosta5617 I loved Andie's dress so much!
Omg YES! It’s gorgeous 😍😍
You have inspired me to be more sustainable! You are doing a wonderful thing 🙌🏻
Ahhh this makes me so happy babe, thankyou so much xx
TFS.
Yes yes yes! Love this lovely! xx
Thankyou for such a lovely comment and for saying this! I’m so happy you guys are on my wave length :) xx
Your passion for being the most sustainable version of yourself really shines through. Good for you! X
i have been plant-based for 10+ years and it's so frustrating for me to hear people in the vegan people attack people when they are trying to be better. There are areas in my life where I am not "a hundred percent sustainable" we are all trying our best to take care of the planet. i think you are doing an amazing job victoria about using your platform to spread a positive message and encouraging everyone to be one step better every day. ❤️
The outfits are great as usual, but your make up is spectacular!
The smokey eye and the orange eye - perfection!
Ohhh thank you lovely :)
Take care and much love to you 💚💚
So many amazing ideas and thankyou so much for supporting me babe xx
You are such a joy Victoria! What a wonderful and beautiful addition you make to this world! Be well and be happy I know I am! 💚💚
I’ve been trying my best! I’m good at recycling and reusable water bottles etc and coffee things. We have been cutting down our meat intake etc at home x
I absolutely love your style!!!! Classic but with an edge 😍 gorgeous!!!
Ohhh thank you!
Ohhh hey lovely, I just watched her video and was absolutely blown away - thankyou so much for coming over xx
You’re doing more than a lot of people to address sustainability, and as you said if you inspire at least 1 person that’s one more than before.
Keep doing what you’re doing Vic! Absolutely love your content and who you are 💓
Thankyou for the support lovely - I can’t tell you how much this means to hear this xx
I got married myself last year and I hope it brings you all the happiness it has brought me ❤️
I love watching your videos, I’ve been following you since blog days and I think you are one of the most, real and unpretentious TH-camrs out there!
I’m an interior designer myself and have to say your home is great. Looking forward to seeing what you do with your new house too! 🌈
Keep up the good work Victoria and hope you stay as inspirational, stylish and authentic always, lots of love, Emer xxx
@@VictoriaMagrath Of course, I totally get that, like you said, you're turning the tap off when brushing and you've changed your coffee machine 🙌.
This might be my favourite of yours ever. It is so refreshing to hear someone with your platform using it to make positive changes for the planet! Keep it up girl!
Thankyou thankyou thankyou for thinking so babe honestly xx
Hopefully as the demand for transparency grows, these brands will be more forthcoming with their supply chains
Keep being you! Love seeing a bit of sustainability in an accessible form :) Every little helps.
Thankyou thankyou thankyou lovely I’m so thrilled you think so xxx
I'm so happy that you spoke so eloquently about negativity it just shows what a class act you really are.
All the fashion, being on the panel, your upbeat energy during the vlog- loved it!
That orange eye look for VB 😍
♥️
Love what you had to say about the sustainability subject. SOMETHING is always better than nothing. Really appreciate you standing up for that, Victoria! Xx
Your vlogs always puts me in the best mood. I appreciate your honesty, I completely agree with you when you were talking about sustainability. Its really not an all or nothing kind of thing.
You’re such a gem lovely xx
I love the sustainable fashion content!!! So happy to see this in your content recently :D
You've inspired me massively in regards to trying to make more sustainable choices and I love how you are using your platform to spread such as amazing message! :)
Fantastic well you are my one person to inspire and therefore job done and I am THRILLED! Haha thankyou babe xx
Victoria, you stay so cheerful even though you must be stressed and tired. Well done...you're a bloody professional!!
The pink/polka dot dress is beautiful xx
The material is sooo beautiful! xx
So my burning question is did Alex end up buy the givenchy jumper? You can’t leave us hanging like this 😂

Love this comment lovely :) perfect xx

I love the fact that you’re talking about being more sustainable, its super important and it’s amazing that you’re doing your part! Would you be willing to address fast fashion and the human rights violations that go along with it? Its less about sustainability but its still super important! The true cost is a great documentary to watch for more info :)
Ignore ignorant people, hun. You are inspiring to me.
Lisa x
Didn't he just?! Yes babe thank you for this :)
Keep it up! 😘
Your vlogs brighten my days!! love from new orleans, la xoxo
Anyone know where her queen of the sheets sweatshirt is from? I couldn’t hear her
Where is your grey queen of the sheets hoodie from please x
I’m in love with every single outfit you wore in this video! You look gorgeous as always! 😍😍😍
I love your video as always! Your outfits are gorgeous ! And Thank you to speak about sustainability ! ❤️ from France !
Yayyy I love fashion week vlogs!

You looked amazing in that VB dress. Putting it on my “maybe one day” list. Love that you are spreading the message of sustainability. We should support each other for trying!
