@@robbybee70 that might be gabriel's brother (he's talked about him before) and he's an accomplished amateur boxer and trained guys are able to make snappy shots without full power, I wouldn't worry lol
I would assume any sort of super light really goes on the level of the person, world class Kickboxer superlight would be vastly different from up and coming newcomers or once a week to the gym/mat sorts
Both those gloves are so clean 👀 Great drills! I always do a variation of #3 against the wall or fence. Adding kicks is another great level of difficulty/reaction
@@GabrielVargaOfficial Do you have a paid link for the T3 gloves? Would love if you made a little extra on a sale. Using Low intensity steady state cardio (liss) and high intensity interval training (Hiit) together is great for building faster recover and better overall cardio and faster recovery. The LISS builds a greater overall cardiovascular capacity. The hiit helps work at a high rate and recover in shorter poriods of time. You can use either of these or both to increase your cardio and recovery. For LISS I do 45-60 mins as soon as I wake up. I find doing this allows me to build cardio in a measurable way. In the afternoon I do a hiit workout based on grappling or striking. I Get close to maximal heart rate and lung capacity with a high intensity interval exercise. I train for 3/5 minute rounds so my drills are of equal length and breaks match 1 min break in fights. For athletes in other sports it's a different timing for hiit. As for in between rds I suggest Learning meditation or breathing techniques. This is a huge bonus for recovering quickly as you will get more oxygen through your system and learn how to stay calm which helps reduce adrenaline dumps in fights. Sorry I'm not Gabriel but I train myself and work as a PT so hope it can help in some way.
You need to build your CO2 tolerance. Google this, it's super important. Izzy Adesanya and all the people at his gym train this, and he himself says it's brought his game to another level. To practice this on your own, breathe all the way in, then all the way out, but make your exhale as long as possible. Then continue holding your breath with your lungs empty for as long as you can, until you're forced to breathe back in. You may only be able to do it for a few seconds at a time but keep at it, and build it.
I've used most of these. Good stuff and definitely helps. As a kid I had a huge problem blinking and even freezing up. After awhile working many of these drills it stopped happening and I was able to focus more on offense that what the other person may do
Thank you! I'm trying to learn a bit during quarantine and wanted to teach my little brother and we both noticed we tend to blink a lot, this video is a blessing!
Perfect. Just start slow. If you find you're still blinking during the drill your partner needs to slow up until you feeling safe and comfortable. Bit by bit you can increase speed and power.
@@GabrielVargaOfficial thank you for the tips, you have a great channel with very useful insights, I hope it keeps growing! Happy Easter and thanks again!
Bro I`ve done a marathon with your vids and Bazooka Joe`s... please never stop posting new material, I`ve improved a lot, even I only train "FOR DA STREETS" LOLI mean for self defense, hobby and health.
Thank you so much for this video, i was looking forward to this. I will start practicing it with a partner before every class or after once I get back into the gym.
Really good content. I’m terrible at checking and catching kicks. I’m assuming that I should just add kicks as well as punches to this drill to improve. Any other advice? Thanks!
OK... so this is straight out of CMD, are you sure you have never bought a DVD or checking out Rodney King. I know you told me last time you have never heard of it, but this is shockingly the same exact thing. The wall or corner drill as we called it. I was a CMD certified trainer from 05 when it started until 2019 when I left it, so I know it extremely well. I have seen a lot of people use word for word and exact copies of what is found in CMD and deny it is to take credit. I find it interesting how often you are falling right in lock and step with it. No one can owns movements... I can careless that you are using or showing it because quite frankly you do it better than all the others I have found trying to use it. I'm quite sure it's because your a great fighter and you have great context to put it in. Good video by the way.
Nope. Still never seen his stuff. Interesting that it's similar though. He's strictly teaching self defense right? I don't know if I'd use this drill for self defense. I'm sure he has a good spin on it though. I'd be focused on head movement and footwork if my back was against the wall and there were no gloves on.
@@GabrielVargaOfficial no... he had changed more to self defense through the years, but in the beginning it was all about sparring performance. It's just exactly the way you show it, do it, talk about it...verbiage is the same too. Where did you learn it? As I said know one owns movement and to be honest screw Rodney King, he isn't a good person and is exactly why everyone has left his program.
😀👍I've done that. I had a pair of gloves that felt so great. As they started to break down I couldn't give them up. Unfortunately they only got another 3-4 months of use before they ripped open too far.
I'm so glad such a master like you is teaching us for free on TH-cam, you got all my respect!

To be honest I do not struggle that much from blinking but stayed in the video for the defense demonstration and it helped A LOT.
training partners definition of "super light" varies dramatically from my own lol
Super light is pretty easy to grasp by definition. I'd Instruct them to go lighter or find another partner.
@@LgLegion actually I was talking about the guy in the vid not being super light

I want to make the best videos possible but I'm always surprised by how much there is to improve on.
Can you make a video on how to predict when a punch is coming and what to look out for? Thanks
Good idea imho, how to read opponent's posture, body language and striking patterns to predict his actions/reactions.
@topher nolastname Thanks for your insightful answer!
Watch the shoulders.

Filming gloves 😀
Yep. I usually do legs as well but starting with hands is a good place to begin for most people.

This is my biggest problem. So hard to fight the blink reflex
This is funny im having trouble keeping eyes open this make sense im a drill this for sure
I hope everything comes together for you after using these drills
Nice advices, as usual. I thought you will use the wall like Bass Rutten did in his No Flinching or Panicking Drill :)
The one dislike is from the guy who blinked 👎
Can’t see them anymore anyways

What is the standard progression for sparring? Is it a “throw you in the deep end until you can swim”or utilize these progressive processes?

Reminds me of JKD drills.

I like sparring, throwing punches and receiving them. But my eyes always close it’s so annoying.
How do i make myself not scared shittless before during and after a fight ? I'm asking for a friend 😊👊
I'm scared before. Not during or after.
Visualization is my first step. Hard training so I know I'm ready and will be confident.
I done bas ruttens drill, now i barely blink/flinch
Can i also just let a boxing glove swing at my face whithout blocking cause i dont have an partner?
is there a way to do a drill like this but without a partner? (solo training for covid)
nah maybe throw some tennis ball to the wall and block it as they come back
reflex ball bro. He made a video on how to make one. Or get a cobra bag if money is no issue
This works great until you're gassed, defense starts with cardio haha
How do you get by a lead low sidekick? like Wonderboy uses
Good question. I'll put a video together on that.
@@GabrielVargaOfficial Thank you
Drills for stop showing back in sparring....!
How did you read my mind?
I thought his gloves said Viagra 😂 had to blink twice to make sure
