I wonder how the audience can speak Tibetan already but they are only now learning to write in Tibetan.. are they nuns and monks?

You have to learn the alphabet first before speaking Tibetan and he is teaching Pronunciation as well so when someone does translate they actually know what they're talking about :P

i think the students are learning to read buddhist texts and some probably know some words but are learning tibetan and other languages like sanskrit to get a fuller understanding
