I think it's very sweet that Pewdiepie spoke up about Marzia quitting YT and pointing out how different media outlets tried to manipulate her reasons to fit their narrative. Also appreciate how he clarifies that sometimes people want to quit/move on from things, not because they're burnt out or because of a specific event, but just because they want to pursue something different and commit their attention to it 100%

I'm thankful that you brought up the matter regarding Marzia quitting. I believe that social media is a choice and you don't really need a tragic reason to quit. Some people decided to quit from social media just because. Period.
I'm uncomfortable with those people blaming Marzia for quitting even though it's her freedom to. The same goes to her choice for deleting her previous videos. Some of her fans might think it's unfair of her but have they ever thought of how unfair it is *for* her? It's not an obligation for her to keep the videos, especially when she specifically stated that she started TH-cam for fun and to share her life instead of treating it as a job.

I disagree with your last point. It's perfectly alright for her to quit, but she shouldn't have removed the videos. Those videos are not just hers anymore (I mean, legally speaking they are hers, but on some higher level they are not anymore). Once you make something available to the public, especially when it's been there for years, you shouldn't just remove it.
Say that a writer writes a book that becomes extremely popular, but 10 years later the writer is suddenly ashamed about how poorly it's written or the writer no longer agrees with its central message. So should he or she go and rewrite the book and ask everybody to burn their old copy? Another case in point: millions of people grew up on the original SW trilogy. Some of them saw the movies dozens of times in the theater and then even more on TV. Then, 20 years later comes Lucas and he wants to release it on VHS and DVD, but he is no longer satisfied with it, so he starts to tinker with it, making significant changes to the story. Today, there's no legal way to buy the original trilogy in its original state. Lucas had every right to do it, legally speaking. But was it right? I don't think so. The movies were no longer just his. He could have made the changes, but still keep the original version as an alternative. He shouldn't be able to just remove it from existence. It's a part of history.
Of course, Marzia's situation is different, because it's about youtube and videos, not books or movies. However, after having her channel out there for years, on some level it's not entirely hers anymore. We, her fans, can't force her to make more videos, we don't own her and she doesn't owe us anything, but she should just leave us the videos on the channel. Again, they're a part of history now. I don't think it's unfair to her. She made the choice every time she uploaded a video.
Anyway, I don't feel any ill will towards her. I just don't think it was a right thing to do.

But I do understand her point of view, in order to start fresh, a whole new chapter, some people feel the need to completely let go of the past. And I think it is bad for her fans, because they will have nothing left to remember, just their memories. She could've just leave the channel there, and never look back, but it would be something still present, attached to a past she decided to let go. In a way I understand her, but I also get why people get hung up on not letting go completely. Anyway, I do support her decision.

I fully support her decision to leave youtube, but what i cant understand is why she is deleting all her videos. I'm sad, that i probably will never be able to rewatch her old videos and watch the ones i missed out. TH-cam has been an important part of her life, and i can understand that she feels like its holding her back. But trying to wipe your history wont make it feel better, if she feels it holds her back she needs to brace it and move on with the next chapter of her life instead of trying to replace anything. Demonetizing the channel and stopping to upload is a clear sign to herself and her community that this chapter has ended, but as I said there is no reason to wipe the old chapter away in order to start a new one.

Marzia's video made me tear up. She had this beautiful adventure along the way, and the video (or if you looked at her entire channel) you could she that she did it her way. The path that led to this, was something she chose. And not a lot of TH-camrs can do that, or hell, they might feel trapped. Seeing two channels grow at there own pace, there is definitely something interesting about it. Even if I might not see it, her path forward will be beautiful and the support she has is wonderful.

I will miss Marzia’s channel so much but I respect her decision. She was never about the fame and money, she made content cause she loved it and the moment it was no longer a passion project, she moved on. Takes a lot of guts to do that. I wish her all the best and I’ll miss her sorely.
