    Very good instructions. I loved the tip for how to get your thread right. What a surprise when you said 6 strands together. This way I can make a choice from many colours of thin thread rather than buy thick speciality thread. I have subscribed, thank you.

    I want to use the large amount of thread I have, so I really appreciate that you showed us how to use our thread instead of buying sashiko thread ; however, I am finding it difficult to twist the thread. My mind is slow, and even when I slowed this video, I could not see how you twisted the thread. Could you help me?

    I’m just curious about being able to wash some items done in Sashiko. For instance, I’ve seen placemats and coasters done with beautiful Sashiko designs and my question is, because these items will eventually need to be washed, will the yarn shrink?

    • @XiaoxiaoYarn
      @XiaoxiaoYarn  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Maureen, sashiko threads are made of 100% cotton, so there is a possibility that some might shrink slightly. It's important to leave a little extra thread at the turning points to prevent the fabric from bunching up. :)

    How do you end the stitch? With hand sewing, I usually do a few back stitches and tie a knot, but I guess it must be different with sashiko.

    Dear Xiaoxiao, Thank you so much for your nice videos and tutorials. I'd like to know how to make a small sashiko rounded decoration I saw that it's attached to the end of a string, as a decoration for bags and other diy sewing articles. I saw them attached to the handles of some bags, as if it was a keyring but made of cloth. I don't know the name of this lovely "charm"-like decoration. Can you please make a tutorial to make some of them?

    Have you tried cotton Mouline thread as a substitude for sashiko thread? Its already woven in 6. It is a bit shiny though, needs a little roughing around. I would rather buy sashiko thread but it is so expensive where i live :)

    • @XiaoxiaoYarn
      @XiaoxiaoYarn  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can try different thread that you have, although sashiko thread is designed to be durable, breathable, and water-absorbent. It also blends into the fabric quite well. Choose based on your project needs! 🧵
