I am a teacher in the Greater Boston area in MA, we have lockdowns regularly these days. I teach first grade, in an urban community, and I am a first time momma. I will tell you, it’s scary AF and it’s even more so when you’re the one responsible for 20+ 6-7 year olds.
That story about your water... that is super weird. Did you talk to your neighbors about it? I've never heard of such a thing and I'm not super far from you. The Nashville school shooting weighed heavy on me as well - I cried most of the afternoon. I have kids in private school, around that age and that hit way too close to home. I'm very scared for our kids and the fact they have to do drills for active shooters... what a horrible world we are living in. Sending my kids to school Tuesday morning was so difficult. Anxiety was high and hearts were heavy.
