I know it’s been a year since you posted. I use my room on Subaru Crosstrek. I used 2018-2019 until lockdown. My health went sideways & in July 2024 I’m on road again. I’m a 62 yr old very out of shape F after 5 yrs of sedentary. I can easily put this up. I see comments that it looks hard but no. All the windows/screens to open when it’s hot out help alot. I still have a fan & use Luci lights. There are hooks inside all around. I’ve also hung laundry line. Thank you for showing. For those who aren’t sure: being able to get out of my SUV & get dressed standing up👏🏾Being able to open windows so my dogs aren’t tied down & can feel breeze/watch life go by👏🏾👏🏾. Take Care! Happy Travels
Thanks a bunch for watching! I'm glad your health is better and you're back camping! My father passed, so I've been out for a bit. Hope to get going again!
Dawn, I have the same Awning and Screen room. I have tweaked and modified my setup over the past few years and have it pretty dialed now. One thing I added right away was a center pole down that adds an additional outward force on the awning material to keep water from pooling in the center due to sag. I had to add one of the tips to the opposite side to basically have points on both ends of the ARM pole. I drilled a matching hole in the center of both extruded aluminum panels that the awning is secured to. Now since I had this pole handy already, and before installing it in it's place, I use it to push my screen room coping through the channel. I added one of those tarp clamps to the opposite end and put on one of the pole tips in the hole on the tarp clamp. Then I just use the pole to push the awning away from me through the coping channel as I guide the coping into the channel on the other end. Easy peasy! I then exend this pole in it's designated place down the center of the awning before continuing with the screen room setup.
OMG!!!! You are a genius!!!!!!!!!!! A long pole to help push it through the channel!!! WOOHOOOOOOOOOO! You have made my day!!!! THANK YOU for taking the time to post!!!! 🥳
Mrs Dawn thank you 😊 for letting us see how to set up the room hope you enjoy 😊 both of them their really nice and your dog 🐶 slay likes it can’t wait to see your next adventure camping 🏕 take care and really enjoy your channel’s
Hi Dawn, I love your videos and your setup. I am curious if the awning and the enclosed room is waterproof? i want to eliminate my roof top tent and get something simple, have you spent anytime in the awning with the room in a heavy rain storm? thanks for sharing, Paula
Thanks Paula! I would say it’s water resistant but not necessarily waterproof. The main problem is the wind that would probably come with the rain. I’ve had a little water pool in from the zipper at the bottom. I’m sure you could do some tweaks on the front end if you knew rain was coming (like put extra tarps out, etc)
thank you, I think im going to go with a Gazelle t4 Overland edition. , I live in Pennsylvania, and it rains all the time. I can't wait to see your next video.
Thank you!!! I have sooooo many lights! String lights, solar lights, chandeliers haha! I’d hang them all if I could😉. You’ll see some in the other videos
I personally think that's a bad design and looks hard to set up as we see in the video (to me anyways). I kind of just don't see the advantage of the unit even as a screen room that is attached to the vehicle in that way either? There are many free standing screen rooms on the market that just set up like a regular TENT does, but of coarse those are much higher in price to buy...And on top of that it blocks the truck door. I don't see any advantages of this particular screen room?
Well Darryl, to each his own. As I state in the video, the only part that takes time is threading it through by yourself (like an extra 5 min vs 1 minute with someone else). I put this up about a month after I had spinal surgery for the first time. No way could I put up the other stand alone rooms (Clams) by myself at that time. And it’s the the 6X6 one. I have one in one of my earlier videos. It’s nice, but it’s too small to do the things that can be done with these. Also, they can easily blow away (I’ve had it happen). The screen proctors in some of the stand alone ones are sold separately and are pretty expensive, and they don’t cover the front opening. The clam also takes up more room in my truck. Hey, I like my clam, and will probably still use at times. Like I said on one of my other videos, this might not be for everyone. Thanks for watching though

Dawn, you have a very nice setup, do you also run lighting in the screen rooms….

Hey Dawn, Is there a way to use a pole to hold up the right side for leverage while you pull to left? Not sure if I am making sense :)
Hmmmmm I think I get what you’re saying! I’ll try to give it a try! Thanks!!
Amazing
Thank you!!

@@dondelgado5546 just giving my humble opinion, dont take it so personally...dont read between the lines sir.
@@DawnAdventures5678 not being harsh personally here, just my humble honest opinion of the screen room design...
Seems hard
Nope, just threading through the back by yourself takes about 5 min vs 1 min if two people put it up. Otherwise, very easy
