Does it ever get old seeing the water looking like glass? Beautiful day on the water...after the fog, lol. Utica makes a great beer if you can find it. Hope you guys are doing well. Best wishes you guys.
Love catching your videos when we can! They are very helpful! We're still getting used to it all, although we are almost a 1/4 of the way through the loop! Thanks for sharing 😉💞🛥

I think the controlling depth is supposed to be 8 ft. However near Rome and Utica is the shallowest part that we have encountered in our three trips through there. It is where the canal goes from up heading Westward and then downward toward Oswego.
I’m a captain that worked for Erie Canal Cruises in Herkimer. The Canal Corp try’s to maintain 12’ minimum depth however that can vary significantly near creeks and streams like shown in the video. That’s Reals Creek across from Aqua Vino in Utica and that is a dredging location every season.

No it never gets tiring and seeing the water no matter if it's glass or waves always a fun time. But glass makes it smooth and Rev loves it 😊

You are welcome 😎
Aren’t those zebra mussels on the wall?
Great scenery!! Why do you call some locks on the phone compared to just calling them on the radio?
Sometimes we are out of VHF range, and also I might want to have information from them them over the phone that I don't want to broadcast on VHF. 😎
Liked and subbed :)
Awesome Amy 😎
Might you know the lowest depth of the Erie Canal is from end to end and how much is your draft? Bottoming out is always a concern. Thanks!
