- 'Will it start?' is THE question we have all been wondering about since John's garden find 1986 Range Rover was pushed into the workshop! Having already installed some custom made fuel lines and a new fuel filter, this week's job is to install a new fuel pump and sender into our freshly de-rusted fuel tank and then get that tank re-attached to the car. Surely once the fuel is flowing the engine will start?... Or will we find something else that needs to be fixed first?...

I almost had a heart attack when you said "that is a job for...
today" 😀
What I like about Edd's show is that he shows very truly the struggle of the small little battles that every home mechanic goes through especially on those "small and quick" jobs. Always seems to be one stumbling block or another, and never goes exactly according to the manual.
So happy I found this channel! Couldn’t stand wheeler dealers without you lol
such a great presenter in his general manner ....calm ,insightful ....how he dosent have a big motor show of his own ill never know ,hes such an understated star

I love the top tip with vinegar and salt. These tips are the reason I'm watching.
As an Italian who lived in UK for a long time (in Italy now) I am really pleased that I can enjoy watching his work again.
The difference between Edd and most other mechanics is that Edd makes relatively straightforward tasks genuinely interesting.
Quite like the viewer's Q&A section as well, takes me back to similar sections you'd find in car magazines to learn handy tips & tricks.

Only discovered Edd's chanel today having stop watching Wheeler Dealer on Discovery Channel since he left. Been binging whole of today on the Rover series thus far. This was an episode so satisfying to watch not unlike a briliant heart surgeon succesfully putting the final touches to resuscitating a lifeless soul.
This is the happiest moment of restoring a car.

Nitric acid would be quicker; though if you get it wrong your wires will vanish in a puff of brown smoke 😂
He goes to all the trouble to clean the copper up then uses garbage crimp-on connectors which are open to the weather on the back end. Maybe some shrink wrap at least?
@@bill90405 I'm guessing the owner will be looking at a lot of restoration in the future, possibly including a new wiring loom given the state of it?
Just remember your chemistry. Acids eat alkaline oxides, bases eat acidic oxides. Alkaline battery mess in your kids toy? Use acid. Sulfuric acid corrosion on your car battery? Use a base!
what happens to the chemicals after, why not just get some new wires for such a short run?

Many times you have to think - '80s + rubber hoses + petrol = molten rubber
That’ll be a Britpart fuel pump then🤔🤔 Well known in Land Rove4 circles for their superb (not) quality control. I once got some calipers where the bleed screw holes hadn’t be drilled right through. Took me ages to work out why I couldn’t bleed the brakes.
There are loads of calliper manufacturers. Could have been made in China.

Thought fuel pump sounded rather noisy, but yeah it’s a BRITPART... If it had’ve fired up, who could put up with a fuel pump as noisy as that 😅
here in Australia i had a clutch slave re-sleeved in stainless steel back about 18 years ago, i couldn't bleed it, same thing, they didn't drill the bleed hole.
@@dannykn9996 they don‘t need manufacturers in China or India to sell bad quality parts. Who has invented electrical darkness? Decades before any car parts came from China...
