So Japhet survived and lived within Valerie's body, then as he grew he took control. By the time we encounter him, Valerie is probably no more than a lifeless shell, a puppet being controlled from the inside.
I felt bad for Japhet, he tried so hard to make a nice land for his people; one that they could enjoy every day in. But instead they ended up too terrified to enjoy anything, he got eaten by a cat, and his people don't recognize his power. Sure he ended up an ass, but he has his reasons. He's less of an ass then Dedan and Enoch in my opinion. (Don't know why he didn't firebird earlier so people could actually recognize him.) The tragedy of his story is portrayed well in this song.
Exactly. Dedan was just pissy because he thought the Elsen were pathetic and Enoch got super greedy and narcesistic. Japhet just wanted a land where people could live in harmony, not fear and that's exactly what happened... I'd get rid of the Elsen too!

Dedan got pissy because the Elsen were so pathetic while Enoch glt greedy with the sugar and at the end didn't even care about his land. But Japhet did want the best for his people but I think he was the one who went inside Valeries mouth. Doing so he controlled Valerie but the people couldn't recognize him. Not sure why he didn't get out of Valerie or just transform instantly but it mightbe because he stopped caring at some point too.
+lilneopuppy not really? he was sort of an ass. he did make all of these great things but he only focused on what *he* wanted, not what the elsens wanted. he was sort of being selfish and when the elsens, who actually *couldn't* enjoy what he set up for them, what they needed was a safe place to live and they would be content. Dedan really did the best job of maintaining the elsens, giving them jobs they would be happy with and work well in, and were very productive. there were possibly the least fucked up elsens there.
i thought dedan was rude because he got mad cow disease or something from being bitten by a cow in one of the endings, which in that one ending it was placed in the past.. thats what i heard atleast

If I recall correctly,, the original French piece has the character á in the name (Minuit á fond la caisse, meaning Midnight at full speed), but during the translation to English the á got replaced with a, and the code couldn't find the right song, so it played nothing.
