Good review! I feel like if they added AC tig it would be a game changer
Agreed.
Yea consider the dc hf tig is super basic
If I didn't just get a new welder for Christmas I would definitely look into this one
What did you get?
The VULCAN OMNIPRO 220 from harbor freight.
Awesome dude! I used your code and got myself one! Haven't done much yet but looking forward to projects with it!
Awesome!
Very very informative you explained the function's beautifully. Really nice video
It's a very handy machine. We have been using it building a chassis swap. It's working awesome.
I'm a retired guy hobbyist. I already have an Airco mig only welder that I bought in the 80's. I've been thinking about a multiprocess setup. I was wondering if this unit can do spray transfer mig?
I don't honestly know as that isn't something I've done or am familiar with.
@@madgingercustoms I did a little more research and apparently the pulse arc is spray transfer it just has the ability to pulse the power so it puts less heat into the work. An old machine like mine that isn't driven by a computer can't do that so spray is only used on heavier projects. Pulse can be used on light gauge stuff.
Thank you Sir. not happy using this unit with 110 v need to add 220 v hope was to use on the road but no go for now just use in garage for now with 220
Merry Christmas!
Nice review.
Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas!
AC/DC Tig should be perfect
Absolutely!
@@madgingercustomscan you educate me how to weld with tig aluminium ? I have the spool gun as well for img ,but I would like to learn ac Alu and dc stainless and not a lot in the manual about it. Tia
@@chiccoka I am NOT a professional welder but we did a video on TIG basics.

Question: Did you purchase (pay for) this unit, or was it provided to you free of charge?
Simder provided the machine to us. It does what it says. TIG is really good. Cuts like a dream. It's a nice rig.
YOU S0LD ME! THANKS1
It really does everything!
Great review thank you , got this one a couple months ago. On the Tig side , did you play with the Frequency 0-200 hz and the Pluse width % 10-90% ?
On your video is it regualar DC tig ( by having the Frequency set to 0 hz ) ?
I dont know much about welding so here i am.
Cant seem to find much information about these 2 options.
I honestly have played around with it too much. Maybe I'll throw a video together for that.
Would be awesome, you would probably be the first.
What is the duty cycle?
60% at 180 amps
Does it use IGBT or MOSFET transistors?
I'm not sure. You may want to contact the manufacturer.
Somehow it's only giving a 20% off discount. Is there something special we need to do for the 25%?
When I tried it, it went from $999 list to $749. I'll check again.
It's working for me. $999 add to cart, 749
Ok Dave, which is better Arccaptain or Simder?
Kind of an apples oranges thing. Fairly large price disparity, the Simder has the integrated cutter. Really not comparable.
Is this hf start or low frequency start for the plasma cutter
It has a pilot arc. How it ignites? Not sure but it works well!
Thanks I just bought the simder and saw some awesome videos on CNC with plasma cutters but they say to us low frequency pilot start or it messes with the computer and electronics but love your videos thanks again
@@coryschmidt7381 hmm I use a Primeweld CUT60 on my plasma table. I wonder what that is. Either way it's been rock solid for me.
You need 90/10 gas for pulse mig
I didn't even know that!! Thank you!
Can you leave the plasma cutter connected and still use the mig welder
Yes you can.
US$ 1.300 CARÍSIMA
they send this to you for free, so it's nothing but a sales pitch, talking up how great it is before you even fire it up. You are a joke
So you don't want one? Ok
@@madgingercustomsI mean, it does genuinely seem like a decent machine, but this is an advert, not a review.
The torches look of a decent size and quality..I'm so used to seeing light weight cheap gear sent out with these multi machines.
Yeah they all feel good in the hand and none of it felt cheap.
Good video. Seems to be a nice unit. Wish I was 20 and not 70. Nice presentation. Thanks.
Thanks for checking it!
I’m watching thinking the same thing , I’m 68 and thinking this would have been a great unit when I was doing commercial HVAC.
It's never too late!
@@donyboy73 your right, sometimes we just need a push
@@donyboy73I second that.. never too late
WOW, nice unit, especially for the price. Great presentation, thanks for taking it through its paces!
We appreciate you spending time with us!!
I watched another review on this unit. They said the foot pedal worked backwards. They flipped a couple wires in side and got it to work correctly. How did the pedal work for you?
Worked correctly for me. That's odd.
How would you compare this brand to arccaptain? Looking for a home welder to replace a Lincoln MiG welder without the cutter
This unit is more money than the Arccaptain but does include the pulse MIG feature and a high frequency start TIG. I suppose you need to figure out what you are going to use as far as options go.
This machine not aluminium tig welding ?
Tell me please
No it's DC only. It can MIG aluminum. Not TIG.
Thanks for the video Dave.
Thanks for watching it!
Nice machine, thanks for sharing, wishing you and your loved ones a Happy new year
Happy New Year and thanks for watching!
Nice looking machine. It would be a space saver.
Certainly is.
Wish it did AC also
I get it but as a package, it does a lot!
No AC TIG, too bad.
Yeah it does a lot, but not that. Still a solid offering for a garage builder.
I normally don't like multi-purpose machines but this one is well set up as far as capacity. Does it TIG aluminum though? Thanks for all you do. Your presentations are easy to understand and full of excellent information that most other people don't include. It's been many years since I have done any welding, but I enjoy the tips and reminders while I am relearning and getting the equipment together.
This unit does not do A/C TIG. Only aluminum it does is MIG DC. Thanks for watching.
Good review. I ordered a machine from them a month ago and have received nothing yet. They do not respond to emails. The equipment looks nice but I have zero faith in them at this point.
@@FlyinTrapezious I ordered a machine in early December, and it just showed up. The connector for the TIG trigger is missing, though, so we’ll see if they reply to me.
Can you give an update if they make good on rectifying the tig torch problem? Mine just arrived last night. SSIMDER's response time to emails is 7 to 14 days after you try to contact them. The response starts with "sorry it took so long to get back to you".I will also give you an update on how this thing works .
@@FlyinTrapeziousThis worries me. I am looking at ordering one. I have got fast replies to my questions about the unit. But it looks like things slow way down once they have your money. That bothers me...
Rickety with bad hands or hungover Dave lol. Nice machine, great demonstration.👍👍🇨🇦
Either or!
Either or!
@@madgingercustoms Hahaha Happy New Year Dave to you and Jess
Looks like a great unit, although I don't understand why they have the TIG gas running through the air port for the plasma cutter, when they have the set up for MIG gas already there. They obviously have some sort of switching mechanism setup inside the machine that repurposes that port when the selection is made. Why not apply that switching mechanism to the already existing gas port? Then you'd just need to switch bottles.
I completely agree. I think it should be in the threaded port and come with an optional y adapter.
Ive been looking for portable 110/220 welders. Started thinking HF Titanium multiprocess, then got talked into the HF Vulcan due to the duty cycle...but being able to use a plasma cutter included in the box is VERY attractive...so now im between the YesWelder MP200 and this one. My only concern is a warning I got from some professional welders "Make sure there are parts (tips, ceramic, etc ) are available for a long time"... (apparently Miller changed their styles recently and its pissing people off because they arent compatible with older machines). My question is....will I always have to go to amazon/Simder for parts? Or are they a standard style that I could get from HF that are compatible?
The consumables are standard types. AG60P torch parts are really available and so are the TIG and MIG parts. And bonus, since they aren't proprietary, the parts are also inexpensive!!!
@@madgingercustoms that's exactly what I wanted to hear! So my next question is..... Which one would you get for a beginner.... I do support my family on a farm so there is reason for semi heavy duty stuff some times... But still a beginner. The YesWelder has a 3 year warranty....its the one thing that keeps me looking at it vs the Simder. LOVE the upgrades, but if it had the same warranty as YesWelder....there wouldnt even be a choice.
China??
Aren't they all?
For someone that has never welded and is looking to do metal work on my cars and metal projects including a BBQ grill. Is this model worth the purchase?
Yes with the discount in the link in the description it's only $749. That gets you a MIG with pulse, a DC HF TIG, and a pilot arc plasma cutter. It's certainly a well rounded package at a budget price.
Very cool!
It's a nice rig.
Just like Butter
Yerp.
Great detailed review Dave
Thank you!
discount link not working. loads up with empty page
Just click my link, then click the top simder link. Find the new SD 4050pro and add to cart. It will discount to $749 with the coupon in cart.
Wow almost bought this turd no ac tig spool gun aluminum is bird shit on aluminum
Wow, you really dodged that bullet huh? There are plenty of AC TIG machines on the market.
Beautiful unit….but for a grand? Can’t afford that as a hobby guy.😔
It's $749 with my discount! Click the link in the description, add to cart, instant 25% off!
Are the mig/material settings in metric like the Arccaptain machines or standard/imperial?
The screen wire size is standard but the wire speed is metric. It's a mix. The pressure gauge for the plasma is metric.

Only downside i see is no ac tig.. if it had AC tig i would jump on it. if there is maybe i missed that part.
It's DC only. I don't know of any machine that does all of this and is also AC. That would be cool though!
from my reading the manual if you leave the frequency set to 0 it welds in DC as soon as you change the frequency setting above 0 say 60 or 120 you are in AC mode and you can tig weld Alu
Can you put a clamp on amp meter and measure the low mid and highest settings to see if its really outputing what its displayed on MMA and tig mode?
Why are you pulling a mig weld?
Because I like to party.
what does the ac/dc tig amp go up to
It's DC only and 200 amps is maxed out.
Plasma lead won’t last long cutting above it
Thanks for the information i just order one
Simder website shows one side door latch, your test unit has two side door latches. Just ordered, kind of hoping it has the two latches.
i just got mine and it has 2 latches
@@aaronhall5170 Thanks!
