Jack is describing my neighborhood. I am 62. this is typical. We had a bell to come home for dinner, not a whistle. But this dude is describing our hood. But in Plymouth, MI.
Ha!!! That’s hilarious… we also had a bell. There were 8 of us Butt children scattered all over the neighborhood. if you miss the dinner bell…you we’re screwed! That’s on you. Many times I would be out gallivanting. I’d finally get to the house, walk in the dining room, and there wouldn’t be a damn thing to eat. My brothers were savages! I actually said that once. In a very loud manner as I gaze at the empty platters. My father said that is unacceptable at the dinner table and made me get the dictionary and look up the word savage and write word and the definition 500 times. 1. Savage an uncivilized beast.. 2. Savage an uncivilized beast. When I completed my punishment, my dad asked me, did you learn anything from this? I responded, yes I did! I was correct, my siblings are savages, their uncivilized beasts. My mother and father could not keep a straight face! They were laughing their asses off. I ended up having a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. It’s all a learning process. Jake is in his element! I’m proud of him Jake Harbaugh has lived a great life. He’s a National Treasure!!! WHO’S GIT IT BETTER THAN US??? Nobody!!!! GO BLUE
The kids games were Kick the Can, Nerf Football, Bike Tag, Red Rover, Building Tree Forts and Tennis ball baseball league and when you heard the bell or Triangle of your family, you went home. but we scheduled the dinners to coordinate. LOL
My absolute favorite podcast I have ever seen! Reminds me of my childhood and love listening to Jack’s stories on life lessons. So insightful. GO BLUE!
I'm a 65 year old (female) Wolverine and I love this man. We grew up the same way on my Grandfather's farm. At dinner time, my Dad opened the window and THAT whistle blared. It meant get your butt to the table now ! Our generation has it better than everyone.
Absolutely remarkable stories. How alike they are, Jim is a spitting image of his old man. Awesome episode and what a ride, thank you for your work Jake. Biggest fan from the North 🇨🇦🫡
I have to agree with your opening statement Jake! This is also my favorite episode of all time and we even got a reference to The Sandlot! 😂 If Michigan is America’s Team, Jack Harbaugh is America’s Grandpa! Excellent Episode!!

I love listening to stories of the elders. Especially hearing of the older days of how the World was and giving simple but moral advice. It makes you miss past times when everything was simple.

With no Georgia to face Michigan should win the championship.
5 acres in Pickerington??? As a central Ohio realtor, that just doesn’t sound believable Mr. Butt.
Well, your obviously an Ohio fan, being from Ohio, so who is believing you?
That was a fast 36 minutes. I could listen to Jack talk all day. Thanks Jake!
Jack is 84 and is as youthful as I’ve ever seen from someone his age.
